Show us the double baggers

You know, I'm going to get yelled at for this, but:

I'm sorry, but I just think the military is ugly. I can't help it! The aesthetics don't appeal to me. That being said, hearing so many great things about the knife, I will buy it sometime soon and give it a shot to see if it grows on me. I know that often a knife you think ugly in a picture, actually turns out to be a lot better in person. Besides, I felt the same way about the Delica before I bought it, though I wasn't turned off as strongly. Now, it is one of my favorite folders, and I LOVE its appearance. Weird. :o:D

Spyderco's are not really known for their beauty. However, their utilty is is one of the best in the industry IMHO.

I think it's a wire stripper. How effective it is, I couldn't say. I use an old Camillus electrician's knife for that stuff, and use the money I save (from not buying a SOG) for lunch & beer. :D

There's this too:

and this:

and . . . oh, never mind. Anything made by BudK. (BudK is where designers work who can't make it at DorkOops.)

thx - cpr

Here's the really scary part. Did you happen to notice that those two designs received 4 star and 5 star ratings, respectively. Then again, considering the audience....

No doubt there. I'm not disputing that, not in the least:thumbup::thumbup:. I was commenting purely on the look of the military.

Like I said, the aesthetics of the Delica never appealed to me at first, but I went out on a limb and got one to try anyway. Now it's one of my favorite folders, and it actually looks good to me now. It'll be the same deal with the Military; not crazy about the looks of that model, but I want to try one anyway to see if the utility makes up for it for me .

There are other models offered by Spyderco that I do find attractive for various reasons, but the aesthetics of the military doesn't appeal to me.

Yell! Yell! Yell!

Actually, it is ugly - but I have quite a number of them myself. They're excellent user knives.

The other knives in the posts preceding it...

I wouldn't even call them dork ops tacticool blades.

They're either Klingon or Romulan.

Both ugly and stupid.

What's going on with the tip of that knife? I have an old slipjoint with a tip like that, but I think it was meant as a one hand opening device. That doesn't make a lot of sense on a fixed blade though.

Or is it some kind of kitchen knife for applications where you just need to slice, but want to avoid stabbing? Maybe for tomatoes?

Strange knife, but I don't exactly think it's ugly or all that stupid. I'm sure I could find some use for it.

That is the future proposed by those who want to prevent kitchen knife violence by removing the point.... I wonder what they'll do for hammers and baseball bats...

Sharpen them , so they're not so Blunt :D

aye the good ol' stabproof campeign in the UK. What we are looking at here gentlemen is the proposed future of knives in the UK, supposed to cut down on knife related crime specifically stabbing. Now instead of a perfed lung or kidney we are looking at slit throats and baseball bats. People are going to kill each other whether the Parliament likes it or not-I guess they just like really messy homicides or something.

One armed bandit.. it was used for grabbing on the seam of trousers to open with one arm. the predecessor of "the wave"

No, the really scary part are these customer reviews

Decent sword, very lightweight. Easily breakable if used for practice, or anything else intense. I broke my in half. =/

Okay, that's a pretty normal idiot, but here's #2

well i got my package today. and couldnt wait to open it and take a look. at first open its preety cool looking but when u take a closer look. u can tell its not for use but display only gladly thats why i got it. it gets a 3 because its cool looking not much craftmanship not very sharp

But wait, it gets better:grumpy:

These is very well built it is strong enough to be used as a shield with offense cutting. These are SO sharp I have cut myself several times I have two. These look good as well and so for show these are well worth it but you can use it. It gets the most attention in my collection. They cut themselves as well LOL.

What? This gives me a headache, then I read the first sentence of the caption for it.
A dragon's tail is one of his most powerful defense mechanisms. With that in mind we have created a unique, fully functional fantasy bowie.
I don't know how to respond to that. My ability to comment is completely incapacitated
