Show us the double baggers

I see somebody has already posted the captain. I actually really like it, although for the life of me I can't figure out why. I definitely do understand that 99% of people probably find it hideous though.

Positively homely

This one I agree with 100% :D

Everything Spyderco makes.
That doesn't mean I don't like Spyderco, they make great blades. I own several.

It's a bit like my brother: He's an intelligent, skilled and friendly man, but ugly. I love him nontheless ;)

Spyderco is (in)famous for making fugly knives that feel great in the hand and perform wonderfully. They call this "designing in the dark". Performance and ergos come first, attractiveness is way down the list of priorities.

That isn't to say that they don't make some good looking knives as well. And sometimes, the uglier they are, the better they look.

You know, I'm going to get yelled at for this, but:

I'm sorry, but I just think the military is ugly. I can't help it! The aesthetics don't appeal to me. That being said, hearing so many great things about the knife, I will buy it sometime soon and give it a shot to see if it grows on me. I know that often a knife you think ugly in a picture, actually turns out to be a lot better in person. Besides, I felt the same way about the Delica before I bought it, though I wasn't turned off as strongly. Now, it is one of my favorite folders, and I LOVE its appearance. Weird. :o:D

Yeah I felt the same way about all Spydercos. Then I bought a Byrd knife and loved it. Now I love the way most Spydercos look, including the military

I sort of like this one . On one hand it says tactical, on the other kick back with some vino. You don't often see that in one package.

:D :D :D
the model name is NOKS pterodactyl... and every taclicool vine conoissers would be happy if not for spotty (pooor, to be honest) quality

Gerber ez-out platypus edition:confused:

I didn't notice that before I posted the other post. I don't find that too bad but the association made me laugh.

What's the story behind that RAZR knife? anyone have the original thread. It looks like someone took a bite out of it.

I avoided spyderco for years purely because of their appearance. Eventually gave in and got an endura at the enthusiastic recommendation of a friend. Now they're my favorite, and now seem to make up the bulk of my collection

I guess any of my mods are double baggers ;)

Necromantastic, I know, but I had to :)

I just received a Military (orange) today, and I confess I have seen the light. Surprisingly, there was no "warming up to it" time like when I bought my Delica; I took it out of the box tonight and found myself strangely pleased right off the bat. The knife looks MUCH better in person for some reason. The various pics I've seen just don't flatter it. I won't say it's the sexiest thing on the block, but it's something like that "only moderately good looking" girl whom, for some reason, you can't stop checking out....:D

So, finding the Millie easy on the eyes immediately was unexpected. What I did expect, was functional quality underlying the design and fit&finish. I am not disappointed: Very ergonomic (I can even use the chest-lever grip!), smooth action, solid lock-up, easily manipulated and controlled, slim and lightweight yet strong and substantial, agile and precise, great functional blade shape, easily used with gloves... And that's only what I've discovered in the past hour and a half of ownership :D

I foresee a long and happy future with this one :thumbup:

So, I retract my double-bag nomination :D

Anything with more than one of the following:

Tanto-tips
Blade coatings
Rubber, aluminum, or cheap plastic handle
1/2 serrations
Liner-lock
A saw on the top of the blade
A poor blade to handle ratio

Something like this comes close to my idea of totally ugly--just needs a saw on top:
