Show Us Your Boys Knife

I had a two blade #14 just exactly like that.
I gave it to my Best Friend as a gift one day.
He never used it and kept it on his dresser to look at daily.
When he passed away, I was wondering if I could get the knife back as a memento.
I asked his son about it, he pulled it out of his pocket and said, "This one"?
It was well worn and full of patina, he had been carrying it every day since his father passed away.
That's so much better than just sitting on my shelf as a reminder. He has a knife to remember his father and a good knife to use... Perfect!

Pulled the bail off the M&G, plugged the holes, put a small threaded carabiner on the chain and use that on my BSK. I like knives with bails but I like to see them finished with a ferrule instead of just a plain hole. The de-bailed M&G is a beauty.EBF70028-C572-4031-A14F-4B7AEC007C80.jpeg

Perfect indeed!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I only needed new pliers for the farm, and a sheath to hold the pliers. And i thought to myself "you don't need a new knife, you've got too many already." BUT, there were only a few left in stock. AND, since the shipping had already been paid, I thought to myself "well, it'd be silly if you DIDN'T get this knife with free shipping." I swear it's not an addiction. I can quit anytime I want. Really...

These were Canal Street Co-Op made for Moore Maker. From reading other threads, these were some of the last knives the Co-Op made. I asked MM to hand select the knife from the limited remaining stock, and I'm generally pleased. Well matched scales, no gaps in the liners, flush springs open and closed. Shield isn't fit the best but that's okay. My only real gripe is the blade rubs the liner pretty bad, enough that the blade scratches when closing/opening.

Anyone know if the tangs were annealed on these? I may try to tap the blade over a bit via some tutorials I've found for krinking blades.

As far as GEC boys knives go, let’s not forget about the #14.

Not likely, in my case, considering my desk decor.

I *love* Boys Knives, but as others have stated, these modern iterations aren’t the sort of thing a boy (or girl) could purchase with their allowance.

But a Swiss boy would have been able to put together enough francs for this:

A boy who struggled with math might have liked this one:

A boy of slightly above-average means might have purchased this around the turn of the 20th Century:

And his grandson might have bought this:

Here’s a few more easily-affordable knives for good measure:

And let’s not forget some girls like knives, too:
