No unnecessary construction related demo work for my higher end knives, when I have other way less costly tools designed to take the abuse and do that type of work much more productively......

So I just ended up taking my CRK on a Surf field trip over to Ponto's State Beach, and used it for a modeling photo OP before I paddled out for an fun 3 hour kayak surf sesh out in the beautiful warm Pacific Ocean water:

I ran into this cute rambunctious little tyke and his Mom who pulled up near me driving a Nissan Pathfinder.

Snip the silk so they do not burn. Soak in water for half an hour and put on the grill. The water in the shucks steams it. I like it better than boiled
I like them like that too, but also microwaving them in the husk works too.

Either way, to shuck them after they are cooked. Chop the stem end off about 1 or 2 corn rows deep. Then squeeze the pointy end like a tube of toothpaste The corn will squeeze out. Leaving all the silk in the husk.

Is it only me, and forgive me if I make someone mad, but the little boy looks like a very young Donald Trump, hair and all.:)

that little guy looks like baby Trump.

That's crazy!
Now that you mention it, there is slight resemblance. o_O And now. thinking back on our serendipitous encounter.... his Mother (her name was Tatiana or Svetlana or something like that?), told me her little tyke was named Donnie Jr., and when I asked little Donnie what he wanted to be when he grew up, he emphatically stated- "The President of the United States." 🫵

Back to subject of knives:
This Microtech Lightfoot Combat LCC CF beauty arrived just yesterday, and I absolutely LOVE it! 😍💯🫵 I'll definitely be adding this 1 to my EDC rotation and take some pics of it out in the wild, soon. I've never owned 1 of these MT models before; the F&F and incredible quality/smooth action on this knife, exceeded any/all expectations!

I Christened it's later afternoon arrival in the early evening with an ice cold KS Aurora Hoppyalis IPA.

ARK opened a few bags of grass clippings and cut a banana and an apple for my smoothie. Not my EDC, but my Bushman sliced some watermelon for lunch 🙂

When I first saw that pic I didn’t realize the size of them. I thought it was 4 bags of Cilantro. 😂

Made a lazy dinner with the freek 560-2

Cut some store bought smoked ham

Helped fry some egg soaked bread. Eggs are from our chickens.

Then made a salad. The past two years we did not have time to grow a garden between work and small kid so we buy vegetables at the farmer's market.

Over all I like the freek. Good blade shape, S30V steel. Only thing I don't enjoy in this particular one is the rubber handle - it feels decent in the hand but it grabs the inside of the pocket too much, making it a pain to insert in the pocket, taking out is easier but still not great.

Breaking down a peach for a snack to go with a local beer the other day. I do this pretty often:

Spotted Cow is a farmhouse ale from New Glarus, WI. Only sold in WI. Flatlanders to the south often make the voyage across The Cheddar Curtain just for this beer. (like folks used to do for Coors, back in the day)

The stein is from The Berghoff German restaurant in Chicago, when it was still operating at full steam back in the early 2000s. I love the shape of it, but it is in the annoying 330 mL (11.2 oz.) size, so I always have to bring the can or bottle out with it. "Just drink that extra 0.8 oz.!" you might think, but since this is a decent beer, it doesn't taste good ice cold out of the fridge. It needs to warm up a bit. The Berghoff got Chicago's #1 liquor license after Prohibition was repealed.
