Show your 'bellys....Sowbellys that is.

...just answered my own question.

...for anyone else that was wondering, too.

Something kinda cool that's easy to overlook on the Vault page is the Production Checklist link -- when Case puts a pattern in the vault, they create a file listing all the "regular" and many limited edition versions made of the pattern and the years made (no SFOs though typically):

Yeah, it's like they hit pause for a Vaulted pattern for a few years.

supratentorial...I was just looking on line yesterday at the S&M sowbellies and some of the case ones also. Care to comment on the fit and finish of the 2008 S&M? real nice collection:thumbup:

Moore Maker.
I don't know what quirk of fate caused it but if you look closely at the scratches on the clip blade they look a bit like elvish runes... a bit.:)

The "finish" is often quite good but unfortunately "fit" is hit or miss with Queen. I think that particular sowbelly is from series 18. Beautiful jigged bone on that knife. I'm not a fan of their 420HC or their grinds. I discussed it a bit here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1297249-Queen-grinds-on-1095-420HC-and-ATS-34 If you're looking for a knife to use, Queen does a much better job with the 1095 steel on their Moore Maker knives. If possible, I'd recommend looking over anything made by Queen before you buy it.

Thank you for sharing the photos, Jeff! Nice knives!

That's one of my favorite patterns. It's nice and slim and the blades sit very low in the handle. Also, it's very similar to oldies.

I usually grind the spey blade into a semi sheepfoot. Unfortunately mine has a few mechanical problems and a broken handle but I have a backup that's brand new in the box.

What is the scale material on the knife in the middle?
Absolutely gorgeous.

It's called green "shell". I love the stuff. It has a great feel also. I'm not sure but I think it's a type of celluloid.

I just spent ten minutes gawking at your knives! What a treat! Thanks for posting them.

Jake, marvelous collection. I thought you might like to see these. I believe both were made by Stan Shaw while at Ibberson, one is marked such on the inside of the liners.

They came out a gentleman's collection, which had 3 more in pearl, marked SS inside on the liners.

The ivory is the one marked.
