Show your 'bellys....Sowbellys that is.

Won this one in a giveaway back in 2012 from TLARbb here on BFC.

Thanks again Ed this this has been in my pocket pretty much since Ed sent it to me, without further pause here are a few quick pics.

Love them Winterbottom Bone Scales and the thin profile of the single blade frame, extremely pocket friendly. :)

Jake
I just spent ten minutes gawking at your knives! What a treat! Thanks for posting them.

Yea Jake, thank you for the info and telling it like it is...
some nice sowbelly folks!

Thank you, guys.

Jake, marvelous collection. I thought you might like to see these. I believe both were made by Stan Shaw while at Ibberson, one is marked such on the inside of the liners.

They came out a gentleman's collection, which had 3 more in pearl, marked SS inside on the liners.

The ivory is the one marked...

Those are a real treat! Thank you for sharing the photos.

Single blade Sowbelly i made this year, now with a happy man in California!

Cheers

Paul

Nice work, Paul!

These 3 sowbellies were auctioned recently. Unfortunately they don't belong to me but they are nice references. They've been cleaned a bit but appear to be authentic otherwise and that's uncommon. The 2-blade is technically a double end premium jack but it uses the same handle.

Those blades shape are incredibly cool...all 3 knives, thanks for sharing this reference

Wow, what gorgeous knives. Definitely looks like a pattern to search for in the new year (somewhat on a budget right now), perhaps the Case TB6339 CV.

Thanks to all who posted!

It looks like a Wharncliffe jack. Does it only have one blade? Have any blades been removed? Neat knife.

Here are some catalog cuts of other Catt bellies and premium jacks.

Thanks for those catalogs pics, Jake! I was hoping you would chime in as you probably have more and have seen more sowbellies than anyone I can think of. I agree is looks like a Wharncliffe frame but i guess i wanted to see sowbelly in it from the first time I eyed it :D It has no number and it has been cleaned. It is just so unusual in its construction on the small end I was wondering if a blade had been removed myself. I had just cleaned it and looked it over and I wanted to post a picture before I went to bed ( and I was a little flustered as my dad had fallen getting in his plants and I had to rush over to make sure he was alright...he is fine ).

Wow, these two are Spectacular!
I always thought that the 5 blade would be too wide and the blade options would overlap a bit too much for my taste. Though this one has me rethinking that.

And that S&M! Three full blades is Fantastic, I bet you can't even feel the trailing point when it is closed.

Pair of Case Sowbellies. Both in CV.

I bought the yeller Delrin first. Was so impressed I bought a second in chestnut bone.

Production, custom, single blades, multi-blades, etc...I know you got 'em. Let's see 'em! 👍

I'll start it off with a Case Select 2001 Waterfall Celluloid Sowbelly that was a thoughtful gift from a friend. Although the handle material is really wonderful stuff and the original "recipe" for waterfall celluloid seemed to have been lost in history, someone did a spectacular job recreating the magical movement that you see in it. Too bad it is gassing, as you can see on the edges of the bolsters. Still overall, I love this knife. Pattern number is T.B.B339, the only year this was made with this handle material.

Case did a great job in creating a production knife that approximates the custom prototype that Tony Bose provided to them.
