@theonew:

German shep/lab mix?

Coloration is the first, but the fur density, shading, and length looks very Labrador to me.

I definitely see a little shep/lab too. I also see some Rottie there. At first it really bothered me not knowing his breed makeup. One of these days I may get a DNA test, I was told it costs about $60 but is primarily accurate only for purebreeds.

Right: two purebreds. Once you're a generation removed from that, it's basically "dog."

Something tells me you don't need to pay $60 for someone to tell you he's a dog.

Your good boy could easily be a double mutt: in which case, he can be ALL of these things!

They do when the trail has 22 river crossings each way. :P

The first time I did that trail with just Keens on, my feet were literally bleeding from being rubbed raw. Wearing socks sure made me look like a dork (more than normal), but my feet were in good shape. :)

Here's my trail dog, Dingus. He's a Rhodesian Ridgeback. The name is South African slang for "whatchamacallit", which seemed to fit with his goofy personality.

He looks all business on the trail, but you should see him at home. He's a sofa dog and enjoys the good life.

Mine is my avatar. That was taken when Molly was about 8 months old. She's 2 YO now, 32" tall and weighs 75 lbs. At her size, she's over standard even for a male Dobe. Still lean and athletic, though.

Hopefully, she's through growing. She was the biggest of her litter, even though second born. Both parents are well within standards for Dobes. We don't intentionally breed oversized Dobes. They're a medium-sized breed and that's where we try to stay with them.

She's never seen the ocean so we're going to Jekyll Island next weekend for some hiking and beach time. This summer we'll go through an advanced obedience class with off-lead work and then on to protection & probably tracking training with my sister.

Aussie has been my shadow for about two years now. If you want to see her go wild just mention the word "woods".

edit: his name is Sig. His full name.... which I didn't come up with by the way, the wife just brought the AKC paper work home one day with the name "Sig Sauer Von Bauer" on it. lol almost as funny as my old chow that was "sweet willie mooneshine

This is Zeke and Brie,Zeke's the big lazy one.
