I'm going to give ya' the benefit of the doubt on the "WTF". It has a removable ferrocerrium rod in the butt for starting fires in the wild.

I think the WTF refers to what looks like two big chunks missing from the blade edge. I thought that there were two pieces missing too when I first looked at the picture. The wood it is displayed in looks to be just a piece the knife is resting on not one the blade is in....
