Show your knives!!!!!!!!

I did this yesterday. Basically, it is a design I actually chose to grind out. What do guys think I should do with this design? I am just an amateur, and at this point, I have like 20x the amount of designs that I have of completed knives.

I made this with the help of a japanese knife maker. Im interested in getting more into knife making too.
All i have now is a bench sander and a drill press though... :(

I have two more in the works, they sould be done within a week.

souprat, amazing job on your second knife! Rusty, I really like the spalted maple on that handle.

i'm gonna bring down the quality of this thread a little....

here are two knives I just completed a week or two ago. they represent the 2nd & 3rd knives i've done that i was responsible for the blade and handle. I've done a few kits, one blade that is a skeletonized handle with no scales, and the Wicked Pissah Choppa for my BIL last Christmas, so these are still kinda my "first few" knives...

little one is a rip-off of the Benchmade Activator in 5160. 2" blade, 5.5" OAL. 7/32" thick. Cocobolo w/red vulcanized liner. Hidden stainless pins. also my first attempt at leather work!

this fella is the same design handle as above, but with my idea of a skinning blade. same steel specs, with blade of 3" (3.5" cutting), OAL 7.5". same handle construction, as well. and a much better example of leather work!

my apologies to the makers in this thread that produce such beautiful pieces... I hope my knives don't de-value yours simply by being here! :D

I am sure the knifemakers will agree with me ( a collector) that you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. You are jumping in and doing it, so you should be proud of that....and I think a lot of these guys would be glad to help you.

Outstanding works of art Gentlemen.

Finished this one last week, my second completed knife as well. The goal was an EDC with an aged look, came close.
My gratitude to all of you for sharing your experience and knowledge. It's appreciated more than you know.

Thanks! this sure is a lot of fun! I've talked a bit with Bruce (Bump) and he's helped me immensely with design and heat treat. A great fellow to visit! being from walla walla, we know some of the same people, though i'm only 30... a great talent, that man!

The last few were not finished as much as I wanted, but re-breaking my leg and having surgery a month before my wedding put other plans in motion:rolleyes:
