Show your ugliest knife...

Can I play?

This was my pappaw's skinning knife as long as I can remember. He always claimed it was made from a file but the more I study it I believe it is an extremely well used Marble's. It has hammer marks on the spine from where mammaw would pound it through pork bones cutting up pork chops and such. Holds an edge very well. I was so tickled when she gave it to me. Just a bit of family history.

This is mine. It was even uglier when it was just a sheep shear. It's other half is still waiting for inspiration and a nice deer leg bone.

I further tweaked it to give it some belly.

:D I'm right there with ya. I don't understand that patern either. The fact that modern makers put such an ugly blade shape on 'em makes it even worse. They don't even put a belly on them. Its like a quasi-tanto-spear point shape that is horrible. Ugly any way you look at 'em.

This one is my ugliest knife:

That is not ugly!!! I love that pattern.

Where does one find that pattern? I use to love em when I was a boy, just never was able to get one.

Is your nickname, perchance, "fingers"? ;)

I would be hesitant about using that knife in any circumstances. certainly would choose just about any knife over it. it looks downright dangerous. but if you like it, well, good luck sir, you are a braver man than I.

My late brother in laws knife. My wife claims it came from WWI. It has some sort of epoxy like handle.
