Shreveport Hammer Inn Nov 17, 18 every one invited

I had another great year this year and made off like a bandit. I am the new proud owner of a knife made by Andy Lewis (If you've seen his work, you know how lucky I am) as well as Shane Wink's personal hunting knife. Oh, and I also scored some killer supplies from Dan: Walrus ivory, India Stag, and curly maple for the Hawk.

It was a great pleasure seeing everyone and especially enjoyed my time with Shane Wink. He is a super guy and I look forward to heading out that way again. Very well worth the 6 hour drive to Dan's and 8 hour drive to Shane's. Of course being from TX, that's just a hop and skip away.

Here are a few pictures. Ed showed a really fine 17th century Samurai sword and here is Jason with his forged ax.

I am sorry I missed it Dan! Jason told me of what a good time it was and how much he learned. Lets see some more pics!

Pssst Shane - Jason just boosted your personal hunting knife. Not lies! He fessed up in post#41 plus I saw it in his hands Sunday afternoon. Watch your back around him. Nice profile on that knife BTW.

What Jason didn't say is that I got a really sweet Wilder Forge medium hunter in 1095. Was cleaning it up this morning and it's rock solid, thin shouldered and regained a killer edge super easy on the chrome strop. Thanks Jason! Gonna get it dirty this winter - promise.

Sorry guys on the photo front. I really dropped the ball on that and you'll just have to take our word for it. Dan was too busy to mind the camera and I had about a dozen shots on my phone that looked like accidental discharges... I'll do better next time.

Good to see you all.

Its all good Andy, I should have known something was up when he told me he was from The Republic of Mexico! LMAO! Thank you for the kinds words about the blade I gave him and will be coming up to visit Dan soon and hope to see everyone else as well. I promised Dan some 5160 :) I too saw and received a Kitchen knife from Jason and was humbled when he presented it. It is a fine blade and I used it to make sushi for the fire station yesterday and had to keep a close eye on it so it did not "walk off".

Shane, you will be welcomed here when you can make it. Sorry you could not this time but I am already planning one for the spring. I may do a weekend thing to before spring.
