Shreveport LA Hammer Inn Oct."SOME PICTURES OF HAMMER INN ADDED"

I'll bring some soft drinks and bottled water. And pick up some donuts on the way in if I can find some.

rmd, great thinking. I will be busy today getting ready. Off now to get propane.

I know this is last minute but I would like to come to this tomorrow if you all don't mind. I am new to all of this and would like to absorb some knowledge. I will probably be a little late though.

Zipp37, you are most welcome. My address and phone # are on the 1st page.

Just got back. Had a blast. Saw old friends, made new ones, ate some great food, and gained some knowledge. Can't wait for the spring HI. Thank for hosting it Dan.

Jason, you were missed and talked about, but not too bad. HEHEHE Hope to see ya in the spring.

BTW, no worries on the PID. I'm gonna take everything to Shane's and he's gonna fix me up.

+1! Outstanding weekend! Darrin, it was an honor to meet your Dad. Those Larto apples don't roll apparently... Still thinking about Everett's knives. Thanks for bringing them.

Dan - massive thanks to you for letting us come over and play in your sandbox. Your enthusiasm is seriously contagious buddy. Had a great visit as usual. Looking forward to the next one already.

Andy

great weekend! Enjoyed seeing folks again, and meeting some more new ones! It's now been about one year since I've been bitten with this bug. I have a bunch of labor intensive trot line sinkers to show for it! lol. Learning new stuff weekly, and these hammer in opportunities are just full of information, tips and tricks! Thanks to the guys like Dan, Andy, Darrin, Charlie, Will, Joe and anybody I might have left out, for being selfless with lending their expertise and knowledge. And again, a special thanks to Dan for providing a place to do this and allowing us the use of his equipment.

Here are some pictures of this weekend. Thanks all for coming and especially those that helped = Andy, Joe and Jenny, Johnny, Karl and all others. Just a great time of learning and passing on info. I always learn so much and thanks again. Now for some pictures

This is during introductions and discussions. Here I am showing Charlie the fine technique of drinking coffee. He really was paying good attention.

Part of the folks. I think more were inside.

Here is Charlie working on one of his creations.

Again Charlie on the anvil.

Josh on the power hammer with hot steel.

Here is Karl and I either BSing or possibly discussing knife construction.

Here is the little shrimp of a fellow called Stuart working on a monster knife. I think it is to big for him and he should just give it to me.

The knife with a type of razor Charlie did.

Some more of the motley crew.

Here is Karl forging his 1st knife ever. Put a killer distal taper on it.

Karl at the forge...me thinks he likes it.

Karls knife with the killer distal taper. Now just dont screw it up.

Here is a perfect picture of what you should NEVER do. Can anyone guess????

Very unhappy I missed this. Looks like everyone had a great time! Next time ill have vacation put in way in advance. The oilfield is very unforgiving with days off!

Dan warned me about having my fingers over the belt, I flippantly replied I always do this, I know what I am doing. I then promptly ground the pad off my index finger.

Lesson learned, listed to Dan.
