Sick of hearing the ESEE 5 is overkill.

I like my ESEE 5. Haven't used it yet, but I will. Got a custom skinner made too and I've never skinned an animal. I like knives so I get one or more for every possible scenario. You may be different and I'm thankful for that. Otherwise there wouldn't be pristine examples of knives that were discontinued 5 years ago available for sale. This is a great hobby and every plays a part

If I remember right, this was Jeff Randalls least favorite blade out of the group...hope he doesn't lose his man card too.

Enjoy your blade!

Funny thing, I'm sick of pretentious little twits telling everyone else what's manly or not manly. Yeah you spent an insignificant amount of money and purchased a mass-produced consumer item. So what? Anyone can do that. Nothing manly about it.

Here's a guy amputated his own crushed foot with a 3" Old Timer pocketknife, then drove himself to meet the ambulance.

Why don't you post some of the true "survival" situations that you and your "1lb quarter inch thick piece of carbon steel," have been through.

Hi all,

Guys, I think ya'll taking this thread TOO serious! This thread started off as one of THE best/most entertaining threads I've read in a long time!
The back and forth postings/responses in this thread had me in "stitches" (seriously funny). I'm going to have a dram of Irish Whiskey now!
(On a side note.....22, you are a GOOD Man).

Regards,
HARDBALL

I think he just got it and is excited about the knife. As far as the other stuff, I couldn't care less. That's okay. We all like knives. I can honestly tell you that I would have defended my Ek Commando knife as being a very good survival knife when I got it.... afterall, that's why I bought it. Haven't survived anything as of yet other than life. A friend was just killed the other day in a car crash and left a 12 year old.... wish that ESEE 5 could have made the difference.

That 12 year old may be moving in with us.

Wether people wanna here it or not, the ESEE 5 is in fact a man's blade. Mods, please feel free to close the thread at this point...

Any six-year-old girl with their mom's credit card can order an ESEE, Becker, or anything else. Buying stuff doesn't contribute to being manly.

p.s. I happen to have an ESEE, several Beckers, an Ek, and plenty of other "survival" and combat knives. I like the ESEE just fine.

So only 6 year old girls buy ESEE 5s? I dont understand...

And, did you see the skull on the blade? It's man's knife... 'Nuff said...

I am sure he is feeling what I did when I got my first Becker, a BK 2. "Now there is a KNIFE!" I think most of us have had that experience. I have since branched out to other Beckers and other knives. The OP will probably do likewise.

Good (not that you may be taking in a 12 y/o)! Bring him too the gathering!
