I think you’re right.. was in a YouTube live with JD4-EDC and he was talking about the Civivi Bhalsair and I had to stop what I was doing and goto my laptop.. like why’d he just call a knife “Balls Hair” and I asked. We all realized the name.. said aloud, sounds like Balls Hair no matter how you say it. Civivi need to hand over naming to someone where English was their first language.. not being funny. No one wants a knife called balls hair.
Cold Steel Mayhem does sound silly—til you see one. Then it’s almost like to take a name lol. Thick, compound ground S35VN on a 5” long cleaver blade.. that’s Mayhem.
It’s not super dumb.. but Elementum is not the funnest to type or say aloud.
The Pivot Caliper doesn't sound like a silly knife name until you realize that nobody will be able to find your knife company's name with a search engine, because it's a common part of a folding knife. You search for Pivot and you get all sorts of machinal supply sites. You search for Pivot and knife, and you get a bunch of links to other people's knives. Pivot was to Kizer, what WE is to Civvvi. You can still find the odd Pivot knife around because nobody knows what to make of them, but because of that they're usually marked down and a great bargain. Now Kizer just have a wide range of knives and seem to have left the Pivot brand behind.
