Silly Knife Names Thread

Any reason is good, I suppose.

Jeff and Mike (the ESEE guys) literally don't give a **** about what anyone thinks and seriously wanted to see if people would buy a knife named after a dick fish. "Because we can" was pretty much the answer given whenever they were asked.

Anybody else think the Busse knives sound kind of like pro wrestling characters and or their finishing moves?
"Oh no, Chopwieler just got Syko in the dreaded Nuclear Fusion Battle Mistress submission hold! But here comes ASHLE on a run in to hit him with a Skeleton Key to the solar plexus from the top rope! And now the Game Warden is coming out from under the ring to hit her with a flying Devils Elbow!"

Sorry, but the Devil's Elbow is a Tops "creation" that's about as useful as it sounds.

Alright, then "World tag champion team Mean Street, comprised of Rattle Hawk and Scrapivore run out to save him, nailing the Hot Diggity Dagger heartpunch to even up the odds".

All in good fun, my man.

Wow. Some of these I had to look up. The quartermaster ones are really stupid but the Iraq Jac joint aggravation control is just so stupidly long
it pisses me off.

I think the medford suk and fuk are pretty classless names for knives. Many of Busse's are pretty ridiculous as well. ASHFBMLE what???

cold steel's magnum warcraft tanto sounds like it belongs in this guy's hands.

Now that I think about it:
Spyderco Police
Spyderco Military
Spyderco Paramilitary
Spyderco Civilian

Not bashing the quality just odd names that I found recently.

As has been said- the Police came from a request from LEOs...so sort of makes sense.

The Civilian makes serious sense as a name- If you have to stand in front of the judge and explain why you had to use it for it's intended purpose, it'll go down FAR better than Exhibit A in the bloodstained bag being the "Tactical Stealth Throatslitter 2000X"
(Massad Ayoob teaches much the same in his classes on self-defence shooting in 'dealing with the aftermath'- If you have to explain to a court that you shot someone in self-defence then having done so with a 'Colt Agent' will always sound better than having done so with a 'Colt Cobra'- even though both are identical in performance, the 'Agent' name has overtones of the forces of law and order, whereas the 'Cobra' name has undertones of a deadly venemous animal.....stupid but true)

Paramilitary is one that's always furrowed my brow- Especially with the generally negative connotation around 'paramilitary' units in various banana republics and 3rd World dictatorships.....But hey, I'm not a creative type or a marketing stooge, so what do I know? ;)

I know some of the purpose behind the naming doesn't change the fact that it is odd to ME. Now compared to others they seem perfectly sensible names. Also I'm not knocking the fact that these are great knives and the civilian naming would help like you said.

To be fair though, the Boy Scouts of America is a paramilitary organization... The modern connotation of the word is negative, I'll give you that.

The Mutilator has always been my favorite!!
It even comes in the popular frag pattern!!
