Simple Request Thread

I would like to see a simple 935 Fork made with ebony handle. This would compliment the many BOTM kitchen knives they have released over the years. I would easily pick up a couple of them, if offered.

2019 944 Petite Chef's Knife w/ebony handle
2020 945 Santoku Chef’s Knife w/ebony handle
2021 946 Cleaver w/ebony handle
2022 931 Chef's Knife w/ebony handle
2023 947 Breaking w/ebony handle
2024 948 Vegetable Cleaver w/ebony handle

300 series flat grind. It wouldn’t even have to have the long pull even though that’s what I like.

Definitely possible since they did the BF 301 and a couple of specials. Not sure but I think they were BOTM.

301,303 and a 309. I definitely would be in for at least one of each. Just do it in regular old 420.👍

I wonder if Buck still has the tooling to surprise us with a small stealth run of 704's. I'd buy a couple in 440C, 425MOD, or 420HC in a heartbeat. Hmmm, what scales? Nobody would ever turn down the original 700 series wood, but ironwood, walnut, or oak would look great, too. Nickel silver, stainless, or brass? The answer is yes, please. :) And if they really want to go over the top, how about a matching set of gentlemen's knives: a 704, 055, and 503, all in a vintage steel and matching wood. Or even use a non-stainless steel and watch the patina crowd trip over themselves to be first in line (me included).

I’d do that for sure. But I’d melt if they made them in carbon steel as well 🤩

I'm hopeful that the new pattern 300's are a sign that Buck is re-investing in slipjoints. I'd love to see variations in grind or steel options.

I would absolutely, positively buy another 112 Auto if they would put a safety switch on it to lock the firing button. I carry my 112’s loose in my pocket and I won’t do that with the current Auto design. I’ve tried belt carry but I just can’t adapt to it.

My favorite 112 is my Drop Point Web Exclusive with Ebony, Nickel Silver, and S30V but if my 112 Auto Elite had a safety switch it would blow it out of the water.
Just say “NO” to safety switches on autos. If you can’t carry an auto without hurting yourself, then don’t. Let the rest of us live free.

A simple request: Bring back, bring back, bring back my 830 to me to me!! Maybe, make it available as a request order with options?

A big yes to the 830 from me, too! Best, fastest, and most reliable one-handed open/close Lefty friendly knife ever!

And I know it would take a miracle, but I'm still dreaming of a scaled-down Marksman. Something in the 2.75-3 ish inch blade range. More like a 112 than a 110. And as long as I'm dreaming, I want the G10 scale design from the SK Blades version. The handle details on the regular version run port and starboard and catch when clipping it to my pocket. The handle details on the SK Blades version run fore and aft - feels much better in the hand when using, and doesn't catch when clipping to my pocket and taking it out again. And nobody likes Aluminum knife scales, painted or otherwise. :) The Spitfire and mini might be an exception? Maybe? Oh, and a hollow-ground, non-powder metallurgy, non-Vanadium carbide steel, please. And if Buck produced this exact knife in a modern steel like Magnacut, I might still buy it. Maybe. I wouldn't like it, and I'd likely be disappointed in the use and sharpening of the steel. It would probably ultimately sit on my dresser or shelf and laugh at me every day while I pocketed my 440C Koa 112. :)

Yes, I know I'm dreaming, but it's fun.

And yes, I know I should probably buy something in Magnacut and give it a fair shake, but every other modern steel I've tried has been a disappointment. Admittedly, I've only tried most of them half-heartedly. Except for S30V - I carried a Micarta 112 Slim Pro in it every day for over two years. I was never happy with the steel - or the thumb studs. They always annoyed me when sharpening. Which brings me back full circle - the 830 Marksman is THE best, fastest, and most reliable one-handed open/close Lefty-friendly knife EVER! In fact, I think it's time to set aside the 440C Koa 112 and 100 year 532 that I've been favoring lately, and put my green SK Blades Marksman back in rotation. That's the one that I swapped out the flat grind S35VN blade for a 154CM hollow ground blade off a regular 830.

Again, thanks for letting me ramble, dream, and think out loud. :)

Can they bring back the 525 gent, and do another patriotic version?
I've got all 3 of the patriotic Gents that were offered and that's just not enough, I need more.

Also how about bringing back the 302 solitaire, and offering orange scales.

I would love for them to bring back the 525. I bought a few as gifts for people but never grabbed one for myself thinking they would always be around. I personally love the solid color ones.

the 112 110 dont need a safety switch as they arent pocket carry. they are sheath carry which is the safety.

on button lock design for pocket carry i only carry knives with safeties. dont like it, leave safety off. dont endanger rest of us based on poor information and lack of understanding.

George schrade made recessed button locks over 100 years ago and realized they weren't safe. he added safeties. this was long before lawyers and lawsuits. he did it as he realized quickly a recessed button wasn't good enough by itself. a button lock with a recessed button and no safety is not safe for pocket carry. the reason all makers stopped putting safeties on button locks was when benchmade patented a commonly used safety and starting suing people. so they went back to George Schrade recessed button to avoid suits. a 110 or 112 auto carried in a pocket is maybe the worst idear someone could ever have. sooner or later you'll get bit. Hopefully it won't be bad.

I am still firmly supporting the ELU making the choice. Change your method of carry or don’t buy the knife if it makes you uneasy. But, I don’t like being “forced” having a safety. I don’t use them on knives or guns. I have used them both for 50 years and not had one issue. I suppose that I am in the “later” category?🔪

how can you change a method of carry with a pocket clip recessed button only auto knife carrying it? there is only 1 way to carry it properly and it is still unsafe...like it or not.

I guess you dont move around alot or dont carry anything else in your pocket so never need to ever reach in your pocket.

i've never been in a bad car wreck so seat belts arent needed either with that logic you're using. guess im a better driver than most or just lucky...take your pick.

you can ignore facts, all ya want...but recessed buttons are not safe enough. its been proven over 100 years ago and hasn't changed.

look ya dont like a safety that is needed, great......dont use it. its that simple.
