You must be new to the stalking game.... First take a few more pictures, check his mail, peak through his windows... Then leave :D

I am home sick from work. Just woke up from a power nap. Head cold and chest congestion, lots of coughing and tissues. No fun.

WW, about that stalking thing. Remind me to never let you know where I live... Okay?

Jeremy

Hope you get to feeling better soon Jeremy.

And too bad i was on my way up to Maine with all my stalking gear :D

Man, saw this foliage green jeep just now. I love foliage green color and jeeps!

Umm... I'm pretty sure that's gray, dude.
Still looks good, tho! Maybe it's the exposure.

Cool stuff Zulu, your 15% done :D

Todd i took your advice on the 60 grit 1/2 sanding drums for the dremel

First things i actually considered cheap..... Errr....inexpensive LMAO, 100 drums and 2 mandrels for 8 bucks :D

The clamp is pretty heavy duty, heavy anyways. The thread tape was because... well i needed thread tape. :p

Sorry to hear that. Both my kids were home sick today, and me with my only day off. Although I think the little one was more bummed about almost cutting off her finger trying to put some apple in her lunch, which I asked her to make while I was driving carpool (which I have to do even if my own kid isn't in the car!). Came home to lots of tears and looks from both her and the wife like it was somehow my fault. Because it's my knife, I guess. Or that I asked her to be responsible for her own lunch. Or something. Anyway, no stitches, haven't seen the wound but SWMBO said she lifted up a pretty good flap. Hopefully, this'll be a learning experience. Hopefully.

Dammit GSOM, what have we told you about using the machax to make lunch and leaving it for the kids to play with :D

-SNARK-

Glad she is ok bud.

Your girls are tough Mike, She will be fine.

Are they coming to the gathering with you?

Jeremy

GSOM shes starting early ;) you know what they say "once bitten". Looks like you might get a knife nut in the family! Glad it wasn't serious! speedy recovery!

So last night the wife and I were playing chemistry......and learning about tinctures :D she uses them for making homeopathic's. I found another use for them, in the end everybody wins!

WW - have you found a way to make the Craftsman 2x42 into a variable speed? My brother wants to buy one but is really looking for a variable speed belt sander.

GSOM - I hope you little one is ok. How old is she? My daughter started making her own lunch at 12 but was already helping in the kitchen when she was 6 or 7. My wife has done a great job teaching her to be independent but I still can't convince her to let me teach her to drive. She's 15.

Looks grey to me.

I thought the same thing :)

I would agree, it looks either grey, or gray...take your pick...but I also agree that it is likely the exposure...

I suppose I'd have to go with gray...in honor of my Navy friends, who like things "haze gray and under way." We can't make up our minds what color we like in the Army anymore...

.

I seen a youtube video where a guy uses a different motor to make it a variable speed.... let me look.... Here we are

I havent really considered doing it myself yet though. Id much prefer variable speed as well but they cost a good bit more for the most part.

WW - I saw the same video but I don't think that it is possible for less than $80- $100. I'll keep looking around to see if I can find a better solution.

BF is having some MAJOR issues tonight. Not even my regular workarounds are working.

finally got it.....don't know what the hell I put in there that it didn't like, but kept depositing me back to an empty post window....like 6 times. AAARRRGGHH!

Good luck in your search. if you find something new please share it!!

I figure if there was a cheap easy way of doing it then there would be a lot more talk of it being done. That guy luckily had another motor on hand so he didnt have to go buy one.... im guessing thats where it would get a bit more pricey. But still probably cost less than other variable speed grinders.

I like the 2x42 personally, I havent had any issues finding belts, i like the size of it as its not too big for small areas or too heavy to move around, i like the disc sander on the side, i dont think its very loud.... I like several things about it.... it just goes way too fast. A small mistake can make a lot of metal disappear... I also dont have any experience with any other grinders to compare it to so im content at the moment LMAO

RK, and WW,

I think if you can find an old sewing machine, you can wire the pedal into its own seperate power plug, then use that to control the speed on the grinder. I have done this kind of mod on a few different machines that I wanted to control the speed or the on and off while my hands were holding something sharp or glowing hot. It may or many not work on that kind of motor. SO what I am saying is, cut a sewing machine pedal off, wire a female power plug to the output side, and plug your grinder into that. Pedal controlled grinder.
