Those are all Randalls.:D

Man you don't 1/2 step Samael. They are just individual works of art. I spotted some right away as dead ringers but didn't know they all were Randalls. Beautiful collection that you can take a lot of pride in owning!! ;)

That photo's a couple of years old. There are more since then. It also doesn't include the ones that aren't Randalls. Like this:

I'm sittin on about 90, but I'm more of an accumulater than a collector. Very few of mine have never been used.

Mine are mostly Safe Queens because I collect motly Spyderco NIB's and I only have about 5 or 6 used knives that I carry on and off for EDC and I just like it that way.!
Couple of BM's and a few Kershaw in the mix but I don't count them or my Custom Knives in with the #186 because any of the #186 can be bought or traded on any given day and the rest are keepers that I have had for many - many years and do not plan to ever sell or trade as they will go to my 2 Sons after I am gone.!*
1/2 a dozen will most likely go to SMKW's for there Collection in the store as only 1 to 20 were made and there is not a price tag on them.!
Soon as I learn to take pictures I will put them on here.! With me that could be awhile.

My collection consists of around 3,650 - 3,700 knives. I'd say around 2,345 of them are productions and the rest are custom (No room for cheap made in China knives in my collection). I would like to post pics but it would take decades getting them out of the boxes and setting them up.

You probably should do that however, to catalog them for homeowner or renter's insurance purposes. ;)

Yes, insurance is a necessary evil for anyone with any kind of serious knife collection. And be sure you insure for the replacement value, too - it can be a very different number than the actual value.

Yep. All I have to do is come up with the $5-600 every three months. Ahem.

That's the easy part...it's getting past "the other half" every month that's the tough sell.

I voted 50-100. It fluctuates, but it's pretty solid over 50 at any one time.

This talk of insurance got me thinking. About two years ago, a pipe burst in the apartment directly above mine. It was vacant at the time, so by the time the water made it through my ceiling, it was coming down in sheets. It took about half an hour of frantic calling to get hold of someone who could shut the water off, and by then everything in the apartment was soaked.

The knives survived beautifully. The sheaths were all pretty much a total loss. But it could have been a lot worse.

Less than 10 for now. I use almost every knife purchased. Quality, practicality, value, ergonomics are some factors in deciding a knife purchase.
I would like to keep my "collection" small, less than 30 (folders, fixed, SAKs, MTs) due to space, financial and maintenance (cleaning, oiling, sharpening, tightening) constraints.

That had to be very hard to swallow. :( At least you have your collection intact and it appears they all have nice cushioned pouches for them. :)

I try not to collect.... All my knives are users and have to earn their place for me to keep them. I purposely keep the amount of knives I own limited to about 12, mind you that's not including backups of my most used. I'm a bit of a steel snob and am rather specific with what I like. Thankfully I don't get too caught up in the hype with the latest models etc....
