So I've been on the wait list for the Skookum Bush Tool knife since May 19, 2015. Is there anyone who was put on the wait list after May 19, 2015 who has received their knife? Been emailing Rod but have not heard back from him. I'm curious to know how long the wait is.

I have a few on order with him. His wait time is running about 5 years. My current order dates are January, 26, 2015 and July 14, 2015, and March 2016. I hope that they get made and on there way to me. I want to give one to my grandson-so him and his Pop can carry the same knife!

I've had many Skookums. Very practical, well made tools!

Oof. I'm glad I don't have the funds or patience to deal with this kind of custom stuff. I can't imagine waiting years on a knife. I know I'm losing out on some awesome knives but I'll stick to my "order on a website and get it in a few days" or through the For Sale section here.

Good luck Grenhop and everyone else waiting on a knife.

from what ive heard you are not missing out .

Yeah the wait seems long but time passes by fast. I just hope that I didn't get passed up.

Waiting 5 years for a knife sounds absolutely insane. And the other thread makes it seem pretty likely that you can just be skipped over or forgotten about.

No thanks, but good luck.

I have posted in multiple threads. I've been waiting for longer than 5 years, and same thing, Rod has totally disappeared. I candidly don't think Skookum Bush tools are still being made.

I remember looking at that website a few years ago. He ships the knives with a burr for the new owner to remove.
Take my money please....
Or, you could contact Big Chris.....

Thanks, still waiting patiently. Good thing I didn't put any money down payment.

I ordered mine in 2013 and it arrived yesterday, so approximately 6 year wait now. Rod is extremely backlogged now, and filling orders ASAP. He IS still building the SBT!

Rod does not make any promises on when your knife will be finished. Get on the list if you want one, and forget about it. You have nothing invested in the order because Rod does not take a deposit. I waited 6 years, and glad I did.

Here she is!

Yes, they are still being made. See my post above. I just received mine yesterday after a 6 year wait. Rod will contact you when yours is finished.

Eh, I'll probably just do what he did to me and not respond. I'm sure he won't mind being ghosted, as he apparently has no issue doing it to customers. As I am in a much different place in my collecting and knife use after all these years, I wouldn't pay what he asks for such a basic design at this point. If I wanted one, I could snap my fingers and have a knife made and in my hand within six weeks that looks exactly like the SBT and in the same material, but without a wait that somehow multiplied from the four years I was originally told into now over six years. So, yeah. Your pic was more disappointing than anything, absolutely no personal offense towards you meant. Six years for that? What a shame.

I certainly understand what you're saying, but don't let it stop you from grabbing it when he tells you it's finished. You can always sell it for twice what you pay for it, and fast. I owned a couple in the past, but always wanted one direct from Rob so I waited. I've also had several clones, but none had that true Skookum feel. It may be in my head, but none felt like the real deal.

I do wish Rod would be better at communicating with his customers for sure.

I'll second what Russ said above--contact Big Chris. IMO, you will get a knife quickly that will do everything a SBT could ever hope to do and probably more. Andy Roy (Fiddleback Forge) is another maker who comes to mind. I have knives from both and they are exceptional.
