I am sure some of you know our brand Minuteman brand is working on a knife with Pro-Tech as a follow up to our now sold out ZT/Minuteman 801.

For those of you that don't know our brand primarily makes watches and was created to raise funds for charity and build product in the US.

One thing we are not sure about is whether or not there should be a skull inset on the handle or not.

What do you fine folks think?

Skull

or

No skull

That's a hard one! I love the look of it, but with a lot of cutting it will make a hot spot in the hand.

That said, who cares, I'm going with the skull.

I'm anti skull on a few different levels but they're selling like hotcakes so go ahead on and use them since it's for a good cause.

That skull is much more subdued than some I've seen.. I personally wouldn't mind having that particular skull on that particular knife, especially if the proceeds are going towards a good cause.

With skull definitely, that style looks very good. If you could make it detachable in some way offering (bought separately) different emblems that would satisfy the non skull liker's taste.

I've never understood the appeal of skulls. If this was just a regular purchase I would immediately pass on the product due to the inclusion of the skull. Since this is for a good cause, I might be able to look past it.

No skull. Unless you inlay it in the form it has. That "hole" with a skull inside looks... Cheap. Put a US coin in there instead. You know, staying with the general idea of the good cause.

Offer state quarters of choice, sandblast lightly and polish the high points or something of that nature.

Put a Minuteman hat on the skull and it will work great. It will then be a skull particular to your brand.

No skull. I haven't been 13 years old for a long time so for me they haven't been cool for a long time. Just my opinion.

Skull imagery certainly does not suggest day to day utility nor outdoor recreation operation. Maybe if I was a soldier in a combat zone, or a civy lacking in self confidence and desperately trying to impress, I might go for this. Otherwise a patriotic or otherwise less suggestive emblem would be my choice.
On the other hand I do freely admit to not owning a knife like this nor being tempted to. And if SAKs suddenly featured skulls on them I'd be busy figuring out how to remove or obscure that motif. This is a niche market you're catering to. Good luck!

I like the idea of a Paul revere type of image versus a skull. When I think of "minuteman" a skull isn't what forms in my head.

When I see skull decor on knife or fob I imagine a scene like this:
LEO: "Is that a weapon in your pocket?"
Me: "No sir, it's a tool!"
LEO: "If you show me a hammer, saw, screwdriver or wrench with a skull on it you're free to go. If not, you are carrying a weapon!"
