Skull or no Skull?

My vote is for skulls. So funny to see the psychologists come out of the woodwork and try to project a meaning to the imagery of the skull or the motivations of those who would like them.

Funny you should mention. Ol' Sigmund would have a field day with your post #18 in the needle bearing thread.

I don't put any death-fetish crap on my motorcycle, and I certainly wouldn't buy nor carry a knife with that on it.

I like skull rings, but that skull just doesn't look right in that position on that knife.

So I'd vote "no", for that skull in that position on that knife.

Probably need to send me one of each so I can see what they both feel like in hand, I'm feeling like no skull but I did like the idea of some type of coin.

Skulls are tacky death worshiping ninja- yuck! Not on my knives or my property. Poor taste, and life is short.

I say no skull. I don't like anything on a knife handle that might cause a hot spot.

Having now seen it; I'd probably opt for no skull...even though it's the same skull and setup as my Doru.
As previously stated, the Doru was an anomaly - I'm not into skulls.

Either way, though, as a limited edition, it won't matter all that much. For every person that won't want it because of the skull, there will be one that does (and vice versa). Due to the limited quantity, for some, it won't even matter...regardless of their preferences.

A deaths head symbol or image is definitely something of an ominous sign.
Any adornment which bares such an image could be misread with bad circumstances.
All to the detriment of the bearer even if it was not meant as an open warning to others.
I suppose its ok to own and and have it seen in public
if it doesn't offend the sensibilities of the local population
But i can understand why skulls can be pretty cool for some.
As It is all about having conquered the fear of death
And being the master of his environment.
Explains why a portion of government armed units around the world

Have skulls adorned in their insignia.
I only can say that it is a strong symbol
Which is both fearful as it is somewhat all empowering
Hopefully it will be a favoured art choice for years to come,
As it continues to rake in a nice tidy fortune to
The makers of such embellishments.
And oh, btw, have you ever noticed just how many makers of cheap knives
Feel they can add mystic to their inferior products by having skull somewhere?
Alas poor yorick, didn't we all know him??

Skulls have been used as decorations for more than 7000 years, so for people to decry them as some sort of death-fetish or only used by teenagers is somewhat silly. Do a little research and you will find some some really neat examples of skulls throughout history.

That being said, I don't like it on that knife and think something patriotic would be a little more appropriate.

Yes I'm sure all the bad-asses with skulls on their knives have "mastered their environment" and "conquered the fear of death". It's funny because I don't think you're joking.

I do not buy things with death imagery on them, so if this knife has a skull on it, I'll be out.
