Sleeping with knives

I sleep with my slipjoints all the time. Or whatever knife I happen to be sharpening while I watch TV and fall asleep.
I once had a girl pounce on me in my bed and darn near cut herself in two on my Busse NMSFNO because I had fallen asleep while sharpening
Girls hate when you sleep with a knife instead of them ;)

No, that's kind of crossing a line for me from serious hobbyist to mental disorder.

Yes. Flashlight in left shorts pocket, and whatever folder i choose in the right one. Sometimes ill also have one IWB. Other than that i have next to the bed: batons, machetes, swords, clubs, bats, and the like.

I do sometimes. Mostly just to fiddle with if I'm not sleeping. I've got a big led maglite on my bookshelf which is what I'd probably actually use for defense if not my baseball bat or one of my machetes.

If I happen to collapse of exhaustion, sure there might still be a knife in my pocket. Otherwise, no. Most of the time, that day's carry ends up on the desk.

There is usually a knife on my nightstand where I dumped it before bed, but I rely on dogs for an early warning and heavy firepower to protect my family. There is a sword on the wall of the bedroom. Does that count???

Probably separation anxiety, kind of like a child with a favorite blanket. I have a dog and a H&K USP40 for defense. Sometimes falling asleep with a knife in hand, or even in a pocket can be comforting.

Then 99% of the people in this thread took it the wrong way. I fell asleep holding my first knife when I was little once. Never did again. I think I was so happy to finally have one. My parents told me about that years later, I have no memory of it. Seriously, if I did that now my wife would tell me I need help. I'm kind of the opposite, I would be nervous I'd cut myself in my sleep. Don't want anything near me like that when I'm asleep. Maybe if you do like evidently a lot of others here and sleep with it nearby but not holding it your wife wouldn't mind.

Shambhala Press !? What are you a covert pacifist or something? :p

Ha ha ha... Well, Comrade Lenin said that you have to study your enemies to beat them.... :D
This particular one isn't bad, I'd consider it classic, but example of pacifism could be in some way the Blackwater book on the top (didn't finish it yet).
It is very entertaining to read a liberal text and to discover in their own words how wrong are their values and ideas, proven with the facts they collected and presented themselves... :D
What can I say: I like to read...

My Ka-Bar USMC stays wedged between my box spring and mattress by my head along with small LED flashlight. Blinding attack...

A six inch belt knife of my own design under the pillow for the past 20 years. It does provide neck support, otherwise I don't pay any attention to it.

nope. 1911 on the night stand. really don't need anything else.

I have slept with a knife in my shorts pocket a couple times but I dont feel comfortable doing it so I dont anymore. I dont need a knife on me when im sleeping anyways, I have my entire collection in a cabinet and duffle bag at the foot of my bed, then my edc stuff on top of the cabinet so I have plenty of options within reach, including a rifle and flashlight for emergencies.

S&W .357, 200 lumen Surefire flashlight, and cellphone on the nightstand. all that plus a couple dogs roaming the house to alert me to anything going on outside. I have no desire to do any late night knife fighting, so aside from my edc, they are all boxed away in my dresser.
