Slim Stockman

I thought those wood grained Schrade boxxes were hinged?

Most of the Schrade Walden brown boxes were hinged on folders. There were several patterns of Old Timers and Uncle Henry. Even find a few Craftsman boxes like that as well. A lot of the Schrade Waldens came in the "View Pak" plastic tube.

This John Primble slim stockman landed in my P.O. box today. It's just over 3 9/16" long, likely made by Schrade. Must have been in a display, as the bone is a bit faded on the front.
Finishes all seem original;

Now I just have to find me some Jalapenos!!:D

These Slim Stockmans have really been a treat to look at. Does anyone else seem to feel they just slip into your pocket? Very comfortable knife to carry.

I guess this one counts as a slim stockman

Arathol, that is a gorgeous knife. the clip is outstanding.Everything about it says wow.

That 69 is a "Deluxe" Arathol. And the 61OT is a sweet pattern. Those two knives are about the same in a lot of ways. Schrade actually called this pattern a "Slim Stockman"

Nice slimsters strutting their stuff here!
Case made a few; here are two, a 6318PU (CV),
and a 6318HP SS P.
10 dots (w. punch) and 9 dots SS.

Here's an unusual slim stockman; a Shapleigh D-E, in a 3 11/16" gunstock pattern. Very slim/compact, the blades nestle into the handle nicely, yet the pulls are easy to access. This one has seen plenty of careful use - still in great shape.

It's such a nice knife, I thought I'd take a "knifemaker's" scan of the innards!:D

Thanks Steve!
You can probably see the dark pins in the bolsters. They polish (gasp!) back to silver. I hate polishing old knives, but had to try it here. They seem to be a different alloy, because they darken sooner than the bolsters.
A tale of lost patina!

After "accidentally" discovering the Camillus 69 via a post on another forum, I started accumulating them; an old 69 managed to replace my 194OT for EDC. Because of some nerve damage to my hands, I've never really been comfortable with the stockman pattern but the ca. 4" slim stockman was perfect

When I got ahold of Schrade's version (61OT and 861) I found them to be not just similar, but the same knife. The ones I've seen so far are pinned in the traditional manner, rather than having the Swinden key. They are a "match" as far as shape, pin locations, etc. My nephew came up with an older 861 with a broken clip blade: a blade from a Camillus 69 parts knife dropped right in with no fitting.

I guess what I'm saying is that it seems that at some point, Camillus was making all three of these knives.

A very interesting variation based on a stockman pattern.

As with some of the other slim stock knives it allows the nail pull on the sheepsfoot blade to be accessed from the mark side.
