you should sell that problem knife fast!!! too me at a huge discount since it is after all a problem knife lol!
And avoid the drama?![]()
Really? Something you had to look "up close" for bothers you enough to make you want to sell the knife?
This is getting to be a bit ridiculous.
Coming from who very diligently inspects knives. Respect his opinion, and he said he was sending it in. Not selling it.

Here is an idea, let's let this thread die a natural death. It started out with an incendary title, has now become 'trolish' (sic) in nature and now serves no productive purpose at all. I am sure the OP will report back when he has a positive outcome with Spyderco customer service.
Got something to say?

One thing we seem to forget sometimes is people's expectations are often very different. While I didn't see a problem with the liners in his first post it doesn't mean there wasn't one. Let's try to look at it from the opposite way as non-knife enthusiasts it's $100 knife that doesn't meet your expectations no matter what they are. Can you remember the first time you told someone that you spent $100 on a knife and the look they gave you? The only thing we can really do as a community is to educate someone that there expectations are unreal at a given price point or manufacturer or material etc.I think after you've been collecting for a few years it is easy to become jaded.
Bottom line if you are just not happy with the knife for whatever reason the simplest and easiest thing to do is to return it.
OH my gosh I better get out my Magnifying glass to inspect my Manix2 now.![]()
You know, I see threads on here with folks praising their knives for things the knives were made and are suooosed to do. Nobody criticises. But let a fella post about some issues he has with a particular knife and guys gotta attack him for it. Every man has different expectations of their knives. Some guys pay their money and want the knife as close to perfect as possible. Some are ok with a few cosmetic flaws. Some guys like to tinker and will fix any problems on their own without sending the knife to the factory. Some guys aren't ss able and have to send it in.
What I am saddened to see here is fellow knife enthusiasts attacking another enthusiast simply for posting his opinions of his knif, and venting a bit about his problems with it. Rather than attack each other with snide remarks it would be much better to see everone work together to help each other here. It would be much better to see knife enthusiasts show more support for each other.
I am relatively new here. And perhaps this thread(and some others) are not a reflextion of the whole forum. But I thought I would not be seeing all this here.
Thank you. I knew I would be attacked for even mentioning Spyderco in a way that isn't praising. Open minded people like you are the ones I was hoping for a response from, but I knew the internet know-it-alls would come in masses as well. I won't be able to send this knife in for another 3 weeks because I'll be out of town, but I will once I'm back. I'm sure they will make things right, but I feel that I completely have a justified reason to be very disappointed and a little angry. Getting the knife back with considerable blade play that can't be easily fixed just felt like a slap in the face from the customer service team.
As for the people on this thread being a "reflection" of the BF community, sadly about 60% of them have poor attitudes- in my experience anyways. It's generally the fanboys and the seasoned collectors that seem to know it all, and anyone who disagrees with what they say is "wrong". Always followed by plenty of passive aggressive comments.
