Slow shipping from 1Stop Knife Shop?

Help me? I've already tried to track my order on your website using the order number that you sent me. It didn't work and that's why I called to find out the shipping info.
And, as I said initially the person that I talked to could not track the order because he said it was coming from California. I'll just wait for the order to arrive (if it ever does) and inform this list if and when it does. Let them be the judge of your "excellent" service.

 

I ordered an Emerson from 1SKS and got it within two days (I paid for the fancypants shipping, mind you).

I was pretty happy with the service.

Look, guy, first, it's easier for us if we have some more information so that we can tell you exactly what the status of your order is.

So, if you wouldn't mind giving us your name and order number, I'd be more than happy to do whatever I can to fill you in on the current status.

Unfortunately, we cannot keep each and every item we have on our site in stock at all times. You would be hard pressed to find any large online vendor who has every single item in stock always. I apologize for the delay in your order, but in order for me to help you, I need you to help me by providing us with the appropriate information.

I also apologize that we've been unable to integrate the tracking system for our orders coming from the West Coast warehouse - I'd like to say that I have a viable solution for that, but in the near future, I don't see one. You aren't alone in your frustration - I personally would like nothing more than to have every order trackable through our site. Unfortunately, right now that isn't possible.

Blasting us on the forums doesn't solve your problem, only creates a larger one. I'd like to help you, but I need your cooperation to do so.

I too have ordered numerous times over the last few months from 1SKS. And even on my very first order where I screwed up and emailed my payment by PayPal to the wrong email address, 1SKS has bent over backwards to ship promptly, answer my questions and on one occasion, CALLED me directly to explain that a Spyderco Civilian I ordered had just come in and was shipping out immediately.
If you simply call them at the number listed on each of the site's pages and talk to them, giving them your info, I'm sure they will get this straightened out.

First off let me state the I can fully understand your frustration..Ive been waiting more than two weeks for a Custom knife from a maker who said they had shipped...I wrote the maker and asked if it had been delivered and he stated that he was several days behind and that the knife was shipped "yesterday"..Well yesterday was 7 days ago and ive yet to recieve,so I do know that feeling..I can also tell you that 1SKS is NOT operated out of a house..Ive been there twice to pick up orders and the business is ran out of a office with a fairly large stockroom..

This is what I would do ...Think about what you want from this transaction..Then CALL MIKE and go over what you expect(doing this in a proper civil manner will get you further than ranting)..Ive only met mike twice and they were brief(The phones never stop) but from these two meeting I would say he will do all he can to help..To keep this thread open with nothing but pissin,moaning,jabs and whatever may come is a waste of time and bandwith....it would be better handled in a more personal and private manner.

Look, outside of this transaction I don't owe 1SKS anything and neither do they owe me. My original post was a question about seemingly poor service from a web merchant who would be familiar to this list. If you've read all the posts you saw that some members have questions about this business' procedures while others aren't concerned.
I'm not soley focused on knives for my Internet purchases and I haven't found one business that can't get a purchase delivered to me from California via UPS in less than 8 working days (so far) from time of shipment. My experience tells me that somewhere there is a problem. Either the shipment hasn't been made which is a credibilty problem or there is a carrier problem which apparently can't be tracked.
I personally think my original question plus the responses from other members is the type of info that also should be posted on this list as it assists customers in their purchase decisions as well as merchants in designing business procedures.
 
Yes, this thread should be in the GBU forum. Spark, throw it over there. I don't think it would appear to be a biased action. This thread is not accomplishing anything (IMO). It belongs in GBU, not here in the general forum.

Well, it took some searching, but we were able to figure out what this was all about.

steeler_fan, I'm going to guess that you are Matthew J Gorski, of Baden PA. Since you didn't want to provide us with your name, order number, phone number, or what you ordered, we had to resort to using your profile here to try to figure out who you were.

Since no orders had come from anyone with your email address (pierogi@webtv.net), we were stumped for a while - but fortunately, you sent another email from that account and we were able to find out your name and order number from that.

Once we had that information we were able to search for your order and, lo and behold, it's in transit to you as we speak. It cleared IL yesterday and should be in your hands by Friday at the latest, hopefully tomorrow. The perils of ground shipment and all.

If the item is out of stock, it's out of stock - sorry, we can't magic it any faster.

At this point, what exactly is your problem? Are you complaining just to complain, or is there something we can actually do here to help you out? We've given you tracking numbers, your order was shipped and will be delivered within our 14 day stated delivery window, and yet you are still lambasting us at every opportunity.

I'm not sure what is to be gained by this.

If an item is out of stock don't you think you should inform the customer?
Also, I'm sure that list members now feel secure in knowing that list moderators and administrators feel free to divulge members personal information just to serve their own purposes.

Gee, that is a nice comment about the members of BFC. Your post is just as important as any other. But this site is organized into Logical areas so that readers can find the type of thing they are looking for quicker. Your post is not appropriate for the general forum.

Your continued complaints have become very tiresome and annoying. Any business can experiance a more than six day delay in shipping an internet order. You have implied that there is something dishonest or disreputable about the management of 1SKS. I think that is completely ridiculous.

Mike and Spark DO NOT own all of the businesses advertising on this site. Most of these businesses have paid a fee to have their banner ads displayed. You may not realize that the forums are financially possible ONLY because of 1SKS. If there were truly ANY conflict of interest, they would have deleted your thread at the outset. You have failed to phone them, or provide the information that they have requested to help them track down your order.

If I had the power, I would have transferred this topic to the Good, Bad, and Ugly forum long ago. That is the place for public service announcements about service Good and Bad. I fail to see how you have been mistreated since Spark and Mike have repeatedly asked for contact information for you to be able to resolve this issue. They are clearly acting in Good Faith. I'm not so sure about you.

Since the death of James Mattis, there is no active general forum moderator. Spark and Mike could have moved you thread (or deleted it). The fact that it is Still Here argues against your claim of bias or conflict of interest. They have gone Way out of their way to try to accomodate you, and avoid taking Appropriate action on this thread which may have created the appearance of a conflict of interest.

Mike and Spark are good, honest people. There is little real financial benefit that operating this 'list' as you call it. I have never seen a post referring someone to another knife dealer edited in any way. This site is a gift to the knife community as a whole. Since you are new here, I can understand why you would not realize this.

I personally love this forum. It is much more than a 'list'. The members here think of themselves as a community. There is a place for your thread, and it is not here in the general forum.

I have no financial interest in 1SKS, or Bladeforums. I do have an interest in fair and honest dicussion. Your continued complaints are not serving any public good. They just sound like whining and complaining for the sake of it.

Please, someone toss this thread to GBU. You can continue this 'discussion' there if you like.

It's 6 of one, half dozen of another - would you rather we spend time contacting you that something is out of stock, or spend that time securing the product for you so you don't expect a longer delay? For that matter, if you had any questions about whether we had the item(s) in stock, why didn't you call us before placing the order?

Anyhow - I'm sorry, but if you had bothered to provide us with any sort of information as to just who you are, instead of making us jump through hoops for hours last night and this morning, we'd have been more than happy to not have to reveal any of this.

Instead, you've come here and berated us repeatedly in a public forum; so, excuse me that after we were able to figure out who you were (without any help from you) we show everyone just what the status of your package is. If you are going to attack us, you have to let us show our side.

Again, if you have a problem, I'd be more than happy to help you out - but what you are doing isn't helping anything or anyone - and it's not going to make UPS deliver your order any faster either. Sorry again.
