Small BG-42 regular gone...

I lost my first Sebenza very recently as well. It was a large micarta insingo. Perfect knife that was pretty much in NIB shape. I don't know how or where it ended up but after searching for it like a mad man for a week I gave up and just accepted it was gone. Worst part is Im not sure if I really lost it or it was taken at my work. I cringe every time I think of some stranger with my knife. Well best of luck finding your Sebenza.

And I think your still in good shape. If your sure about the proximity of your knifes location than it will just take some time and hard work to find it. Defiantly don't give up.

Great suggestions above! Don't give up, and let us know when you find it:thumbup:

FWIW and at the risk of thread creep, all Nyalas are S35VN. There are pre-Idaho Made versions that are uncoated and Idaho Made versions that are also uncoated, in addition to current production.

Thanks for the correction (and apologies for straying off-thread) - 04/12/2011 build date, NIB, uncoated, Idaho Made marked.

It's sad to see these threads..it's also sadder to have another member of the "I lost my Sebenza" club.
Lost a large regular many years ago, so I can understand what you are going through!

You have a good start if you are 99% sure of the area where it fell out, increases your odds already. I certainly would give much more diligence for this one over my SAK Tinker. You will find it.

Is the blade magnetic? Some SS isn't and the titanium handles obviously aren't. :( If it were my knife, I'd be sectioning off the area and crawling around on my hands and knees. :( But the suggestion to check other places like your vehicle could be a great idea. Things like that have happened to me, and whatever it was that I lost turns up in unexpected places months later...fingers crossed for you.

Wasn't meant as a "correction" or at least was meant only in a friendly way. ;) Super knife - I have a pair.

I didn't take it in any other way than friendly! And I have no problem calling a correction a correction. I bought both Sebenzas within half a year or so, and the Nyala has been my first new purchase since then. That's how good the Sebenza is - I just didn't feel the need for another folder.

Hey guys I've been away all day, but thanks for the replies. We do have a metal detector but I didn't think of it and the grass is still littered with hulls that would throw it off. [emoji20] Will have to try that though because it hurts more every time I think of it. It was a user but those little gems are becoming hard to find on the exchange or anywhere.

If your attempts at using the metal detector do not produce, persons with real skills will be able to find it. Not saying you can't swing a metal detector but knowing how to interpret info from the detector is crucial , their are different brands out their that can isolate your knife from surrounding debris like brass, coins, beer tabs. Locate a metal detector shop in the Cimarron area they might be able to hook you up with the right person. Good Luck

Hope you find it buddy. I lost a large 21 silver dog paws sebenza. Still hurts. I would
Spend the day looking....!!!! And get a metal detector....!!!!

Slightly off topic, but I once had a Strider SnG with a blade that was magnetic. Something to do with the grinding can make them magnetic, and they sometimes have to de-magnetize them.

That really sucks. Good luck finding it. At least you know where you might have lost it.

Sorry for your loss-
BUT-Shooters that won't pick up after themselves, just give the anti-gun idiots more 'ammo'.
Just maybe, you'll find your blade if you clean up your mess---

Who is to say he did not pick up his brass???? Your assumption is that he did not. How about after 10-20 years of shooting, the area is so littered with imbedded rounds, that even if he chose to clean up after others as well as himself, it would still be a venture in futility. I live in a desert are where for the last 40, or 50 years people have gone to one spot to shoot. There is zero chance you could clean the area without large amounts of earth moving equipment. Graders, dozers, and then sift the earth. So while this thread may have been an area for your HIGH HORSE, i think you owe the OP an apology for injecting your ASSUMPTIONS on him.

I'm sorry if I offend anyone with my littered hulls, but let me explain. We live in the country, a farming community where our closest neighbor is a mile away. This is shooting in my back yard so I guess it's me that'll be looking at those empties. I do pick them up every few weeks though so hopefully that makes you feel better L G. I've looked a bit more but been real busy so I'm hoping to get the metal detector out tomorrow and give it a whirl. Thanks so
much for all the advice and encouragement guys! I hope I won't be part of the "lost sebenza club" for long!
