Small Fixed Blade

Agreed!!!

Even if under $100! I was just checking out these two knives from Daado and VERY tempted.

Our custom guys really offer tremendous value on all ends of the spectrum.

I’ve owned a couple of pieces from Daado and you won’t find any better production knives out there at that price.

Excellent knives that are forged and ground to cut well.

There’s no way companies like Tops or Esse will see money from me when my local forum knife maker can make something as well or better for less money.

Here's a quick pic of my current go-to's as far as smaller EDC fixed blades go... None of these will break the bank and all serve me very well for EDC.

I must add that I have been drooling over the Horsewright offerings for some time now and will be adding one to the mix before too long. His work and compact sizes look amazing.

Take a look at the Bushbaby series from Arno Bernard. They are nicely finished with a choice of handle materials. Sheep horn, warthog ivory and more.

I have two and they are very nice.

That Meerkat looks pretty sweet!!

I've been loving my Benchmade Altitude. Expensive but totally worth it if you're in the market for a barely there fixed blade.

I have the meerkat in warthog ivory. I read that warthogs are considered a nuisance animal and breed like crazy so I was ok with ivory from their tusks. I got lucky and found it for sale right here on BF. Then I picked up a squirrel in ebony from a retailer.

Good evening everyone. I recently picked up a rat izula and have to say I'm really enjoying the small fixed blade so far. That being said now I'm looking at adding a couple more. The boker rhino looks pretty cool and i like Vox designs but don't know about that steel, the gnome looks too small. So since I'm just getting into these what do you guys like/ reccomend? Blade length below 4" and open to all suggestions since I'm learning. Thanks.

Spyderco Streetbeat is an outstanding knife. One of the most comfortable fixed blades I’ve ever carried. I literally don’t even feel myself carrying it.

White river backpacker pro is another great design. If you can find one Evan’s knife and tool companion.

I also really like my Brous Silent Soldier Ranger. It looks abit different but the double ring handle is super comfortable.

Thanks again to everyone who has continued to contribute to this thread. I've been out on to some really great makers and companies.

Thanks D dsd5150 here's the last batch and I'm working on 68 right now that I'll have done over the next couple of weeks. Christmas is coming, I gotta get busy.

Ya know Dave, sometimes, ya just don't play fair at all. ;)

OP,
Dave gets my top endorsement for making fantastic knives and virtually all are small blades. You won't be disappointed. I have his Sonoran Belt knife. Beautiful!

You can probably save a bit of time by just searching Bird & Trout knives. They are defined by being small, almost always 4" or less. B&T's make up a good percentage of my collection. Other makers to check out.

Arno Bernard. A lot of small knives. His Bush Baby series are all under 6" OAL, his Scavenger series are all under 7.5" OAL Also his Marabou, Batelure, Marmoset...

LT Wright. Love my Coyote. A Great Plainsman is probably in my own future as well at some point.
