Small fixed blades

Mongo - A stag Slim Outdoorsman? Post a picture of that baby!!!!

If you go the convex route, go all of the way!!!! I'd die for a convex ground K-4. That would put the ultimate grind on the perfect handle. The grip on the K-4 puts every knife in the world to shame...... Well...... At least every other knife that I've tried, which accounts for a good .0000000001% of the world's total knives, and with my particular hand. A convex ground K-4 would probably be my concept of the ultimate outdoor knife. Not that my K-1 is any slouch, which runs pretty close to my idea of the perfect all-duty fixed blade, for both urban and outdoor utility use.

Well, I'm really interested in a Dozier, but they have a four month backorder. if anyone has one of the smaller Dozier's that they would part with, please email me!

Doziers are great,
but the only way to beat the backorder is to catch them at a show...

I walked out with a freedom fighter at the New York show, at it wasn't even on their website yet.

It would be worth the dime to give A.G. Russell a call. If anybody has a Dozier for sale, it will be A.G.

I'll second on Dozier 'cause I love his designs... and I'll second on Mike Cooper, own one of his Drop Point Neck Knives (which I also got a belt sheath for) truly fantastic product for the money, and Mike IS a great guy to deal with.

I finally found this pic.
It shows why I like my Dozier Personal Utility so much
K9PU.jpg

The handle is rounded and hand filling. There are no sharp corners either. Alot of handle on a little bitty knife :D

Well, with my Nimravus Cub and now a sheath from Eric at On/Scene Tactical I might be set for a little while. :D

I'll see what I can find at the Vegas knife show...

While these have been mentioned, definitely check out Gene Ingram's work. Top notch all the way and at his prices they are a steal. I also have to second Ron Clark. Just fabulous little fixed blades and his sheath work is super. Seeing how your going to Vegas, stop by and see Nick Wheeler's work. Very nice forged blades with temperlines. You won't be sorry. You might even see a sweet little knife he has done for me that will be heading my way after the show :D

Well, everyone is mentioning Doziers and I can't help but agree.

I have had a NY Special and it's a sweet knife, a little smaller in the blade and the handle than a Toothpick and I'm sure Bob or anyone could make an additional sheath for you.

I have a Dozier Razorback from Knifeart and really like it, I've used the heck out of it and like all Dozier's it comes back for more.

Others I can recommend would be:

Busse Assault Shaker
Polkowski Hang Tight
Carson F4 (small, medium or large)
Allen Blade Chipmunk

MOD Scorpion is nice but pricey for production, same with the MT Medallion, but you may be able to score a Medallion pretty cheap since it's being discontinued.

Here's a pic of the Dozier Razorback... at $135 it's a great deal IMO.

Re Dozier, the wait goes by pretty fast. My General Utility was ordered back in Nov. It was supposed to be ready in Feb. Got a call yesterday saying it was done, what was my shipping preference! Should have it by next Wed/Thurs. Now I won't have to drool over Buzzbait's everytime he posts a pic. I can look at my own.

Buzz, There are a bunch of blades that I love, some that I like and others that are still there but...this is one knife that I will not part with.
I bought it at the ECCKS in March of 01 (or was it 00? ) anyway, I went to the show thinking Canoe knife or Whittler. When I picked up the K9PU, I knew it was for me. The finger grooves fit, the size it right (street legal too) and it disappears in the horiz. sheath under a sweatshirt. It has been my EDC since 9/11.

March is turning into buy a Dozier month, this year it just might be the PGK, or maybe the Wilderness, or.... we'll see how fast my X-Mas $$ burns a hole in my pocket ;)
Come on down and join us :D

Well, as per a friend's advice, I holding off on all knife purchases until the knife show in Vegas...I think I'm bound to find something there...

BTW, the same friend mentioned that some Doziers would be considered "custom" and some would be considered "production." How does that work?
