As a knife maker/designer I'm often intrigued by how well a good design will scale up or scale down. Here are three knives from the current batch I'm working on. They are at the ready to be buffed stage.

The bottom knife, a Gordo model was the first. It is a small knife with 5.25 to 5.5 being the general OAL of this model. Very popular, I've made LOTS of these guys. But the design scaled up well. After some years I started making the Ranchero, the middle knife in ironwood. Really just scaled up the Gordo. Eventually the Ranchero led to the Sonoran Hunter the top knife. Folks posting pics of their small knives in this thread next to larger ones got me thinking about this. In the pic below on top is a Cowboy model. I scaled it down to make the Mestano.

I'm a small knife kinda guy and carry a Mestano myself as an EDC. Anyhoo when you are working on a batch of knives your mind kinda wanders and this is where my mind was wandering this time.....
