But what is the criteria for "small"?

My accumulation of knives is a hot mess right now, and I forget that I have a few smalls. With the exception of kiridashis, I've never been able to really like a knife with less than about 2.75" of blade, and some of these represent my efforts in that direction.

Right to left. The first pocket knife I remember my dad carrying. Found it in the back of his chair when we cleaned out his place. He hasn't mentioned losing it, and the way he is right now, I doubt he remembers it at all. It is what it is, you know?

I'm happy I found it, though. Used to have some kind of yellow enamel covering the slabs, and the fact that it flaked off tells me it's earned it. Needs some cleanup, I'll get to it.

Karda. Also needs some touch-up.

Boker Toucan. I still like one-piece multitools, I just can't find one that's right for me.

Marble's G.I. knife. The other tool is a can opener, and I haven't found a chance to use the flat scraper/driver blade on the front.

CRKT/Krein Dogfish. The OE sheath would get warm in my pocket and let the knife pop loose, so for giggles, I emailed The Man himself, and asked him if he would be willing to make a new kydex pancake for it. He did, and touched up the edge, which is now a terrifying laser razor of doom!

CRKT again, one of the many iterations of the Razel. This one lives on the table in the living room, for whatever needs cut or opened, especially when my wife ensures the employment of package delivery drivers, and needs to do combat with plastic. Like some of the other of their knives that have passed through my hands, this one simply refuses to get sharp enough for my satisfaction. She's described knives as "too sharp" after I did some work on them, so I guess it's fine.

Great post. That sounds like something Tom would do. He's a great guy. Nice knives & descriptions of them. I'm sorry to hear about your dad.
