Small Sebenza or Strider PT

Iwas thinking strider for definate untill the info from the retailer2 out of 3is not good, strider could geta job at a UK car company!!!!!

Yes I've been looking at the UK pen, also the mini manix

The Seb doesn't really do it for me, but it's probably more marriage type material than the wilder looking PT, the Seb will probably be more faithfull!!!!!!!!

Both the Seb and the PT have UK acceptable blade lengths, with the PT being the shorter of the 2 (I believe).

I have actually never handled either the UK Pen Knife or the Mini Manix, but based on the Spyderco's that I own and pics of them, I have no doubt that they are both very nice knives.

Personally if I were you I'd probably go with the UK Pen Knife just for legal purposes.

You guys didn't see that. :D

I wouldn't worry too much about PT's , check out Blue Line Gear - talk to Ryan , he'll hook you up . I've bought 5 Striders on line , sight unseen , all good and tight . I've also bought about the same number of CRK folders - nary a hitch either . In a hard use scenario , I would take the PT over the Sebbie .

 That would be terrible, given that I have a sharpener and all. And don't get me started on people (not implying you) who don't want to scratch a blade. Oh wait, it gets worse. there are actually people that won't use a knife for a tough cut, or stab, or whatever they need it for, BECAUSE IT WILL DULL THE BLADE. Now that's bad, and off topic a little.

:D

No worries here. Gen5 SnG.

I love Sebbies too, and carry one as a secondary knife to my Striders.
I wouldn't do this stunt with any other folders I own except my Strider.

Cool posts, great replies Talon.

Get what appeals to you. Sell it of you decide you don't like it. Knife collecting is a lifelong search finding out what doesn't work for you.

Take care and good luck.

Absolutely speak with Ryan at bluelinegear.com Tell him what you want and he'll make certain the fit and finish are to your specs. I was looking for an SnG without stripes (they don't make them) and he's having one made for me! Their service is outstanding.

ps- I edc a PT and it is exceptionally tough and durable knife. You won't mind 'using' it.

Thanks Nathan. None, zero, nanda, chip or edge foldover. Whacked it through with a mallet. No worries mate. :D

I did the same thing once at work (fire dept) with my GB folder except it was through the hood of a car we were doing extrication training on. 2 guys on my shift ordered Striders that week.

I've been offered a deal to good to pass up, a custom 3" from one of the best knife makers in the US  , I'm not going to let the cat out of the bag untill the deal is finalised, (don't want to tempt fate).

Thanks guys for all the info and advice, I still fancy either of my 2 first choices, maybe a later purchase.

Thanks again guys

Subzilla

Cool Subzilla. A deal on a custom you like is hard to pass up.

Good luck on your future decision re. Sebbie or a Strider. They're both great, and I use both regularly. I normally carry 2 knives. A sebbie in my mission wallet rear pocket, and a Strider folder up front. I use the Sebbie only to cut food items with. Having a kid means cutting up their food for them when your out and about and the Sebbie does the job with aplomb. The stonewash blade finish wipes off nicely and doesn't food stain.

The Striders get used for all other knife related tasks.

Take care and good luck on that new custom!!

I haven't bought either, I have a 3" custom on order, but I have bought a couple of Benchmades to tide me over. I'm impressed with the Benchmades quality, I think I prefer the military looks of the Strider and they are proably better suited to hard use and maybe look better after use, the Sebenza is nearer to a Gentlemans knife.

Let me know which way you go.

You may want to check out Rick Hinderers knives too!!;)

I take it you are getting a 3 inch XM-18 from one of my favorite makers, Rick Hinderer.

When you do decide on the PT or Sebbie, get both. I have a Strider PT and a small micarta Sebenza. Both are great knives, and while I haven't beaten the s out of either, they have performed well for the small tasks I've thrown at them. I just wish the PT had a lanyard hole.

have u concidered some of the klotzli knives, they r beautiful, well made and pretty tough.

Bought a PT today, I got a nice deal:) I got impatient waiting for my custom

I'll post a review when I receive it in the post

That's a pretty cool pic, so I figured I'd give it a go with something else. No problems with a SS Delica4.
