Their recent "sale" of Syperdo PM2 Arctics was a total debacle. They shut down the web site as soon as they claimed to offer them. It was a clear bait-and-switch scam. And they didn't respond to e-mails. I closed my account, and wouldn't buy jack squat from them.
 
I managed to get one. Took me a few times of refreshing for my payment to verify. It was frustrating, but it's just like any limited exclusive drop. When everyone is storming the server the bandwidth is gonna take a hit.

Did you have all your info up to date? I paid w/ Paypal so maybe that made a difference?

Sorry that you didn't get one. I'm sure they'll be hitting the exchange (obvious flipper taxes will apply) in no time if you really want one.
 
I'm guessing this is your first PM2 drop? It sold out in about 12 minutes, with plenty of site overload. That's textbook for a popular PM2 drop. It has nothing to do with any sort of nefarious business on SMKW's part. You just got out-competed by more experienced buyers.

Given the fact that SMKW has no history with something like a carbon fiber PM2, it was basically impossible that their site would not have a meltdown. BHQ has been dealing with big Spyderco drops for years, and their site still takes a crap every time they do a jade exclusive.

Anyway, not to worry. It's a Spyderco sprint run, so absolutely the moment these start hitting mailboxes, there'll be dudes on the Exchange talking about "Catch and Release, decided it just wasn't for me....."* or "Need to recoup funds...." and then they have three of them for sale at a significant markup. There'll be plenty.


* As though a PM2 is in ANY way an unknown quantity at this point.

Right on cue, 2 from the same seller just listed for $400 apiece...
 
There's usually at least a few for sale within an hour of a drop. $400 seems to be the current price for swirly blue septic tank sludge and no traction pattern. I suspect most of these will show up in the next 6 months, never used or carried, clip switched to tip up. Even more likely, they'll just put the clip back and sell it as new, since the smooth CF won't show witness marks.

Waiting for actual evidence of a "bait-and-switch scam."

In general, it's a good idea to have evidence prior to making an accusation.
