Smoke Jumper

That's funny because it looks orange to me.

Eh, maybe...if it's that close I wouldn't want it anyway. I want the blade steel, but the color isn't doing it for me. My wife tells me all my clothes are either a shade of green or brown, so bright stuff really isn't my thing I reckon....

It is red, but a subdued/pale red. Here's a photo. Preston

Like I said before, I think Jeff said that bump is there for a reason. I think it's because it doesn't have metal bolsters and it helps save the pivot pin for the blade. Like when you're applying pressure cutting something, like cheese...

Well ok, I guess I will hold off than . Thanks for the heads up. Maybe Jeff could chime in again on that. It's Just not making any sense to me looking at it o_O

The older Lites never had a hump and the pivot pins were Brass and not as strong as the new Stainless pin ;)

Mine came today, all three have the small bump - I'm going to leave it, as I don't know why it's there but it must be for a reason. Very happy with this purchase - one of these will be fishing with me on Saturday or Sunday. The red really stands out. OH

Got mine. Love the sheath! I laughed when I saw the knife, it really struck me as comical. Something about the red plastic looks like something you might win at a carnival. Of course I know better, it's a real knife and a good one. I do like it and I'll be happy carry ole humpy around with me. :D

Received both of mine. First thing I noticed was the bronze color in the nail nick. My first instinct thought it was rust. One of them was bronzy where blade is stamped Buck and in the nail nick. You can see what I mean in OH’s triple photo above. Is that normal for CPM154?

It’s really no matter. I’m going to throw this on a boat and probably never use it but know it’s there. Going to gift my other one to my dad for Father’s Day Sunday with a nice Cabernet. Will be interesting to see how it holds up in the salt air.

Should be a good utility knife with upgraded steel. Good price point. Not a knife I would be upset if it was lost or misplaced.

So the lock bar has the bump and not the blade.?

Sorry messed up the quote/post on my phone....

Is the bronze color a by product of the stonewashing process? I have seen other stonewashed knives have it as well.
