my red one is very similar....its not rust...some sort of copper residue. I was gonna try to scrape it tonight when I have more time. I'll update if I make any progress.

I believe its harmless and leftover from the manufacturing process. it is not rust. that I am sure of.......

edit part......I tried to scrape it off....no go. I don't try polishing it away but I expect that would work with the right abrasive etc.

I went into my closet and unboxed the SK Blades CPM 154 gentleman thinking I’d overlooked the discolor in the nail nick but mine doesn’t seem to have any. I know this Jumper is an inexpensive working knife and I don’t need to worry about function but the discoloration is something I’ve never experienced on a Buck.99DDEDBF-BC59-44EB-8064-4931F21E494C.jpegE4D89E1A-B27F-421C-A7CF-218AFC6EF7A4.jpeg

Carried mine all day in the office and forgot it was in my pocket! So sharp the hair just piles up in front of the blade and you don’t even feel them pulling as they are cut. Mine does have slight blade play, but not bad. Wish it had a more solid feel like g10, but it’s a great user for sure. Still thinking about dyeing it, maybe this weekend. I will be buying another one or two!

Mine arrived Thursday. Grind is excellent, blade is centered with no play in either direction. I'm an old guy (62) and I love the red handle and red/black sheath. Take a walk on the wild side. ;)

Through most of the '70s and into the '80s the only pocket knives I owned were a 110 and a 301. It's really nice to have a good ol' 110 in a lightweight package with a modern blade steel.

This is probably the best knife bargain ever. Kudos to SK.

Well, you all can call this red but I haven't reached that consensus with my neighbor or my wife.

My neighbor,Marvin, said compared to the sheath which is definitely red,the knife looks more orange.

My wife confused the matter even more, when she declare "that it was an orangey/red".LOL

Myself, well if asked I will claim it's a pale orange.

Anyway I found a sheath that is more compatible with this knife than the original one.

Here is a close up of the nail nick after trying to polish out the "residue" using Mothers polish. It had no effect on the color. I'm wondering if the notch got a little too hot during grinding leaving it tempered a darker copper/brown?

Mine also looks like this. A copper tint. Hmm, I would like to know now too. Maybe it was made from a meteorite.

I noticed the discoloring in mine also, I also noticed the nail nice isn't smooth like the rest. Mine also looks like it was done @ 3:30p on a Friday night? It has some other marks where whoever did the finishing was late to a date...Still like though.

Preston, when you get all the accessories that go along with your knife you'll have to post a picture of you wearing them you know...

Where did you find the LT's in blister packs, some retail outlet I would guess.

Cabela's. Was going to buy from my usual go-to GPknives but they had the Alaskan Guide 110 on sale and I had Cabela's points so I ordered all of them from there.

Got mine in on Saturday. Quick shipping, SK! Blade looks great. Very sharp. Centered well. There is a decent amount of play in the blade, both side to side, and up and down. Still, a decent knife in a great steel, at a really good price. Looking forward to additional colors and/or a drop point.

This is my first 110LT. What a great knife! I carried the knife in my front right pocket for an entire shift. I work as a nurse, most of my work knife duties are cutting zipties and opening packages, so pretty light duty. Whats great is with a lanyard attached and hanging out my pocket the knife stayed put and was hardly noticeable until I needed it.
