Snark before the Gathering

I gave away my BK4 to a friend a while back so I ordered another one for myself this weekend. After it arrives I'm only missing a 7 and 11 in the currently produced Becker lineup.

For some reason I just can't get very excited about those two knives. On the other hand a de-ramped and stripped 7 does look mighty sexy.

Does anybody know if there are BK12s still available new from a retailer? Hmm.... I could get both a 7 & 11 for the price of a 12 tho.

I was there also recently but thought maybe I remembered the wrong place. Maybe I'll dive in a place a pre-order. I'm sure if a ton of ppl preorder they may bring a new batch to market sooner then "before the end of the year"

I'm impatient I know....

The 12 is a great knife, but you could wait until next year and get the 10 instead. They handle similarly, although the tip profile is quite different.

And here I thought you picked up the recent Pandaren expansion. Ah, UBRS. I remember running that instance for Dal Rends...

So how many people understood that? Pwn up to it :P

and it's a different knife in many ways too... namely, it's not a true Becker and definitely not a KaBar, made by Rowen eh?... so, that interests some people :) and it's got a swell warranty as well.

well, you're buying a specialty boutique knife that isn't mass produced, and is a little different, in interesting ways... costs what it costs. some people find the 7 too long, and the 2 and 10 too short... if you can find a 10 :D

if you hunt long and hard, you might find a "12" used, but rarely cheap, people want their money back.

Coating is wearing away, but also there are some sanding marks from when the very tippy tip of the blade snapped off and I had to sand it back to being pointy at the tip. It was such a small piece that broke off, but it made a huge different in how sharp the tip felt. Don't have a grinder so I had to man up with some 80 grit and do what I could.
