Ah thanks guys. But don't cry for me. There's worse things in life that's for sure. At least I had something to get rid of that was worth a little something to make life a little easier. Besides it was just a toy. It had a 4spd with 4:11 gears in it. You couldn't get it stuck but it wouldn't run much over 60mph with drinkin a full tank of gas and wanting to explode. I'll get another one when funds start flowing again. Besides, my kids are healthy, my wife still loves me (I think) and in 1 week I'll be drinkin beer with some cool poeple at Ethans house. So, even when life sucks its still pretty freakin cool!

Go ahead and yuck it up Murph. But what your not smart enough to realize is I'm about to have a 6 to 7 hr. Road trip with your better half. Just me and her. You think I can't tell her shit to make your weekend hell when we get there then your dumber than you look! :cool:

UPDATE: THEY HAVE ABOUT 300 of them left, in different sizes and colors. the only way you can get one, is to call their toll-free number, and talk to customer service. as i just did :D :D :D so, missing color ahoy. moo hah hah.

if you've always wanted a Utilikilt, but didn't like the price, and want something a cross between the standard model, and a survival model (the COST!)... bob's your uncle.

Because, Cutco made it.

Its a Cutco/Kabar Explorer. It used to be, the Kabar Next Generation, 440A stainless blade, powdered metal pommel and guard. Also has a lanyard hole too.

It never sold well for Kabar, so they discontinued it 2yrs ago. Cutco bought the rights to it, and have been selling the hell outta them since then. Not sure why, but since you can't buy a Cutco knife from anyone but a Cutco salesman, they ain't real easy to get ahold of.

Now that they are going to be in the ZK lineup, they might be back in the mix at Kabar dealers, not sure yet, this is an early run proto I got to evaluate.

And since I never bought a Next Generation Kabar, I'm am stoked as hell to have this one. Hope I don't break it.

Owned by, but an entirely different company all together.

Think, like Cutco owns 5-6 companies, but they have no direct relation to the products or development, they simply collect the cash at the end of the month.

Kabar owns the rights to the American Legend design, lock stock and barrel, and they have certain things that makes it theirs. If you look at the other Marine F/U knives there are always some difference from Kabar.

Now, Cutco has the rights to make the Explorer, and exact match for the Next Gen.

Its possible. At the least, one day. Probably not overnight. I got this weekend off, cause I busted my ass the last 2 days and got caught up on my work.

I'm pretty sure I'll have 2 furnace swaps, so, that means I'll have to roll into work at 5am on Sunday. I don't know though, but if I do get to come, it will be Saturday, but I'll be leaving at around 10pm or so.
