I used to brew beer, and the biggest problem with almost all "fruit" beers is that the fruit is added after the fermentation, so I find them too sweet and not complimentary to the beer flavor. I did once make a raspberry chocolate porter, tho, the difference being that the whole flat of raspberries went into the fermenter - all the sugars get turned into alcohol and what you are left with is the "nose" of the berries when you put the glass up to your mouth, and just the essence when you drink it. Whoever was game enough to try it always asked for another...best beer I ever made up. I've still got one or two that are more than substantially aged...

Gus - I stopped at the beer store tonight to see what they had -- Friday is payday and I'll be picking up a few sampler packs for you and Trigs.

Suppose I'll be picking up some of that blue moon too.

I swear, this place make mere spend more money..

Beer, a bag, 2stoves, a Jesus toaster and enough 1095 CV to make heavy investment in kabar; just off the top of my head.

If you can see through it, it ain't beer worth drinking...

Truth.

exactamundo.
I grew up near "Whitney Pizza Ginders" (I'm sure there was an ampersand in there...)
I prefer to call them grinders, it just sounds better. Although around here everyone calls them "Subs" which is just stupid.

Got some new headphones coming in. Looking forward to getting them. Freebs.

You don't do anything small, or cheap do you?! Course it seems most stuff you luck into!

Didn't luck into anything, I'm a mod there. I do reviews/photo reviews, etc. Have saved the owner of the site thousands in RMA's, etc. He sends me stuff on occasion.

I couldnt even find them headphones for sale anywhere.... course I only did one quick search and lost my attention to a picture of fried chicken....

I used to be into mp4 players. I have 4 or 5. I like ripping, and converting videos for them. I watch one most every night when I go to bed. A nice alternative to reading magazines in the john too, haha. That's what lead to me to that forum. Ended up being a mod, mostly because I wrote up so many fix it guides.

In other news, Colorado state senators Angela Giron and John Morse both lost their recall elections today as a result of failing to recognize a constitutionally-protected basic human right as well as failing to listen to their constituents, and in the case of John Morse flat-out ignoring and encouraging other state legislators to ignore the voters. Now back to the studio for more snark!

bigghoss, please take the politics to the Political subforum from now on. Future posts in this vein will be removed. Based on a long history of experience here, I know that political posts can lead to problems in the open forums, and they are discouraged here in Becker, even in the Snark thread.

I have an honest question, If I say something like {example} Philly might legalize MJ this year... would that be poiltical? Or would I need to talk in depth on the law?

Why is religion allowed but not politics? history shows way more problems when religion is involved, yet people can talk about God... but not elected officials?

What makes something political? If you mention laws? elected officials? or your belief on the laws?

Im not being funny or a smart a$$, im really wanting to know, as per bladeforums, what makes a post political? Where do we HAVE to draw the line?

Thank you for any info you can give on this.

I don't think it's as cut and dry as that. I don't know, so I will readily admit I could be completely wrong, but I think the idea of a political post vs a regular post is pretty easy to tell when you see it. Religion? That's a different thing. For both though, I think there is some common sense that needs to be used. This is a knife forum. Really the talk should be about knives. Knife associated things. Outdoors. Etc... Stuff like politics, religion, those have their place, but I don't necessarily think that place is here, at least not in force. The occasional side comment or supporting comment probably isn't too much, but I think if the focus of the post is either of those things, then you have your answer. Some politics have a place though. Knife laws, things like that. Some religious comments have a place too, the one where St. Loke (sp?) commented on a bible verse about having a sword. The focus is the knives, and those things are directed at that, not political or religious views.

Personally I'm more interested in hearing everybody's opinons about knives then anything else...

Gonna order the Kershaw Thermite Flipper next week. It's kinda f-ed up that Kershaw had BF shut down the ZT/Kershaw forum on here. What spoil sports. Wonder whos brilliant idea that was. Sad to see that one go. Still sad about the Esee forum shutting down as well.

I don't think religious politics are allowed that's for sure, where you post something just to get the pot stirred up. but there's nothing wrong with mentioning church or God in a post, or praying for someone etc... I mean after all this country was built on these fundamentals... Just mentioning this I could go off on a tangent on how we're slowly removing these fundamentalism's from our country and its destroying our culture and country...

but I digress...

agreed, knife related subject matter could contain beer, politics, religion etc but there are forums to let off "other steam" or to start a thread directed towards it..
