I cleaned out my shop last month and burned about 200 pieces of scrap wood that would of been perfect for that. Got sick of it being in my way and taking up space. I'll keep you in mind next time.
Try places that make custom cabinets/furniture. They usually have to pay someone to haul away their cutoffs so they may allow you to come check through their scrap bin... at least the ones up North did.
Thanks guys!
I have been doing some carving late at night while watching movies, The BK17 make a good little carver with the real pointy end. But I made a bead last night out of poplar, its the only wood i had left here, and it came out "OK" but while testing its strength i broke it just squeezing it with my fingers. The hole for the bead is TRICKY!!! with a knife anyway! I used a screw to help make the hole. It was pretty rough, but i never got to sanding it down and smoothing it up any. It was relaxing, and kept my hands busy while everyone else was asleep.
With the wife's car broke down, she is borrowing her fathers at the moment for work, but I cant get to the lumbar yards or wood shops for a while because he needs the car when she is off. So if i cant find some little pieces online I might do a trade for some scrap wood or something to hold me over for a while.
James, I have seen some posts and videos from you in the past regarding bladesports, have you been to any events? If so, do you know how they keep the cardboard paper rolls standing up on the table? And the straws too? Do you know how they are set up? At first I though maybe a nail through the table, and the straw slips over the nail, but then I think people might hit the nail with the blade...
The tissue paper rolls, Im not sure if they cut a hole in the table or what to keep them stable without falling over, or flying away when getting hit.
I have been doing a lot of playing with knives lately

It would be nicer if it was outdoors, but I enjoy it still.
