I wanted the bow more :( hopefully 2moro

VERY nice!

VERY nice!

Thanks man, Its a very nice knife. Real good looker. I love the bulldog on it as well. But im just picky with choils and the squared off choil is kind of bugging me. Sucks too, this is like the 3 or 4th time i have tried to really like a scrapyard knife. Normally i dont like the res-c rubbery handles, but these "mudder" handles are SUPER comfortable. I havent put it away yet, feels great in hand, but choking up on the choil is not as comfortable to me as the round choils.

This shows its size a lot better.

(not my picture, too lazy to take pictures right now)

I really like this one.... Scrapper 5 you say? I am ignorant with all things Busse. I shouldn't even ask. I know I can't afford it.

I've had a couple throughout the years. I strip of that coating right away and smooth the edges.

WW just round off the edges of the choil.

I thought about sending it to be modded, have the choil rounded out more and media blast the blade, maybe even remove the ramp.

Thats kind of what has me still debating on it, I know it would make an excellent knife that id really really enjoy, but it would take some time and money... Or it could be traded for a knife I already like that doesnt require modding... or sold for some arrows and a chopper like the BK9, rtak2, or junglas. At the moment I only have 1 knife that has a blade over 8"... But i have quite a few around 5"

Decisions decisions :)

I doubt its a better blade than the Ratmandu, that you have or the Ratweilers now if you love it in hand but just want the choil round and the thumb ramp gone then yeah keep it and mod it and beat it up, but if its not thrilling you, get something you dont have or something that you will love. Just my 2 cents

Yea scrapper 5, Its discontinued now, but still comes up for sale. Its not "THAT" expensive, This one cost 160. Priced pretty good for a discontinued piece of sr101.

What is the closest thing they still make or do they just do "sprint" runs of different blades (for lack of a better term)? Are the prices similar to these?
That's not TOO bad.... Still outta my range right now. (will change after wedding and after student loans get sorted out in a few years)
My go-to knife that size is a $20 Bucklite Max. (I don't even have a tweener :p). This one reminds me of my bucklite max on steroids... down to the choil & grippy rubber handle.

They make the 411, its very similar and only 99.95 plus 14.95 shipping and handling.

Just a little smaller blade and no thumb ramp.. same handle anyway

For what you already paid and what those mods will cost from a skilled craftsman, you could go full-custom.

I ain't bitching about the aftermarket by any means, because I made my bones doing mods, and I've put a whole lot of groceries on the table customizing/rehandling/regrinding expensive factory knives and putting them in quality handmade sheaths. I just don't understand folks spending the same money twice to get what they wanted in the first place.

If you're gonna do the mods yourself, go for it! Be careful though... that kinda behavior is addictive. :D

I agree thats why im torn on weather or not im going to keep it. All knives arent perfect for everyone. Plus its a discontinued knife, modding it would decrease its value as well, no matter how nice it looked to me the collectors value would be gone to any collectors.

looks like the EPA is going to make chainsaws cost more

so, this years Stihl MS 290 Farm-Boss with 18 inch chain at $399 will be the 291 next year at $80 more. give or take. i'm told.

course, the local store wants to sell me one brand new ;)

darnEPA :>
