WW delete some emails so I can send you a pm, your box is full.... You must be a busy guy!!
I like the railroad spike knives, some of them turn out pretty awesome looking.
Well that sucks.
G-shark: You could also just get windproof, refillable butane lighter. The fuel doesn't evaporate like the Zippos in my experience, and you can get (at least here in the states) little refill cans that are easy to store and transport. I have a couple of them from Mall Wart for less than $4 ea. I know there are others, made for wilderness travel.
There's a huge market for that sort of thing. I am not agin it; in fact I say more power to 'em, the makers and buyers alike.
Also, horseshoes.
Not really. In fact, it doesn't suck at all.
The folks who buy horseshoe/RR spike/file knives don't generally give a hoot in Hell about what really makes a great "modern" knife.... they mostly want something rustic to hang on the wall or on their hip. They have zero interest in a THK made with CPM-3V and G10, nor even a Becker made in a factory...
The few that do give a hoot, know exactly what's appropriate for their purposes. People thrived for centuries with knives made out of that stuff, and those folks eat it up like ice cream
Y'know what file/spike/shoe knife fans love? They love to dress up and get together with like-minded folks. They love the romance of it, and the history, and they love throwing down dollars to be a small part of it. It's not the sort of thing we see much around here, but I assure you... it's a market with deep pockets and a long future, and they love their stuff just like we love our stuff![]()
Cool did you get my pm?
blah blah blah, best nuts EVER
I like the way railroad spike knives look and I have two which are on my wall as display.Yea i can understand that. I mean honestly if i had a railroad spike knife i wouldnt use it either really. id hang it up or put it in a display case. Id also like a knife made out of that volcano glass stuff and even a flint knife... i wouldnt use them either, but they sure look cool to me.

WW did you see my earlier chopper link ?
Meh, refilled my zippo a couple of days ago just to have fun with it. Wanted to light it again, but the fluid already evaporated. I've been having the same discussion in my head every single time this happens to me. "Why does everybody love these things when they run out so quickly?"
Using them more would probably be an added value, I guess. But since I'm not a smoker... I might just have to conclude that zippo's or any type of lighter is just not for me.
But then again, zippos ARE fun to play with. Regular lighters are no fun at all. But as a non-smoker in a "being somewhat prepared for when you might someday need to use it for a fire" it's actually quite useless apart from the fun factor. Anyway, just my opinion and just venting![]()

if you get an innertube from a bicycle tire and wrap it around the outside of the zippo it helps out a lot. The other option is they make a butane insert for the zippo as well.
Have you seen the Movie "Idiocracy" ? Man it really puts things in perspective.
I didn't fall from the balcony nor was I arrested.... It was a successful game. There ya go! That's what I wanted to hear buddy. I hope you come out on top, kick that beer's ass.
Seriously, Guyon, if you can give me some tips on shelling/roasting pecans, I would really appreciate it. Miss Angie and I have a line on affordable pecans in the shell... we kinda made a mess of the first couple pounds![]()
CHATROOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
Otherwise you are communists.
