I only had one beer and I'm getting tired. I must be out of shape.

I prefer a sweeter mead, hence the 1.5 gal honey. If you add fruit or fruit juice it becomes melomel. With spices, megthlyn. Never seen one with both before. Have to try that on a future batch. When you heat the honey, IMHO, you loose a lot of the wildflower aromas from the flavor of the mead.
Sounds like you are in the perfect state for Snarking!
Not too many houses with basements in Texas. So I need to find an alternative before I try this.
Me too.
Although, I am drinking 10%abv beer.
Still, I quit drinking heavily when I turned 21.
Taking the earlier advice and switching from coffee to honey green tea. Got my Mojo pot stand in the mail today, so I made the tea with it, a Trangia, and the GSI kettle. The designer did a bunch of timed-trial R&D to get the Trangia burner an optimal distance from the pot. The stand also keeps the burner off the ground to prevent conduction cooling.

yes, but it also separates out the anti-fungals in the honey, which retard yeast growth.
also - note that I used really dark honey, not pale, mild, subtle flavored wildflower honey.
and yes, I am aware that it was technically a malomel/metheglyn recipe, but I didn't actually use enough fruit or spice to meet the criteria for either.
mostly it was very tasty and easy to drink plonk.
If by snarking you mean mindless rambling, then I completely agree!

Yes, in college I could drink two pitchers of beer and still manage to walk back to the dorm with a short stop by the computer center to moon all the asian students who were writing programs on Friday night. The window glass was a little cold in winter, but after two pitchers you don't really notice.
Dang! That's not beer, it's a light wine!
So, what are you drinking?
