Also, a nicely crowned spine is a tactile thing of beauty.

I like crowned spines, too. On kitchen stuff they're more comfortable for a choked-up pinch grip, and on survival knives they don't tear up your baton so fast. Plus they just look cool

On the survival stuff I try to leave a bit of the spine at a crisp 90 so folks can use 'em for scraping a ferro rod. It makes me cringe to see people doing that with their edge. :grumpy:

This isnt a review of the knife, simply showing the edge is awesome.

I had planned on doing review/testing/performance vids with Beckers, but it's just hard to find the time.
Plus I hate the way my voice sounds on video. Lol

Yea i will probably do some more videos once i get some wood i can actually chop on. I plan to do a few comparisons next weekend while im at the cabin.

I have the time, just need the materials.

It's flat-out insane what the same house costs in different states, or even different towns. My old house in WI is assessed at 90% of our current home here in TN... and we now have twice the square footage and a newer house in a better neighborhood... with lower taxes. Wooded land to build on in the boonies in WI is frankly completely out of reach for us... here, it's a screaming bargain. Hunting/fishing/camping places within a couple hours drive? Yup. Jobs in my hometown in Central WI? Zero. Jobs here... they're begging for people to get to work. Some of those jobs are pretty decent, too... factory work that a Mom or Dad can actually support a family with.

Plus the little detail that my friends/family in WI are still neck-deep in frozen nonsense, and our garden is already started...


Never mind all that. East Tennessee is terrible! Don't come here! It sucks! We don't want people realizing how awesome it is and driving land prices up...

In the 'burbs of Knoxville. I like it here... we're close enough to the city to get anything we need, and you can drive 30 minutes in almost any direction and find woods, lakes etc. Last weekend we hopped over the Smokies to see a concert in Spartanburg SC... absolutely gorgeous drive.

I don't really know, I didn't measure it. The blade is plenty thick and it's good tough steel, so I just convexed it right down to nothin' and stropped it.
