5.11 has a longer torso length than the maxped stuff. The rush 72 fits me well and I am mostly torso. There is a guy on youtube that does a 45 minute comparison between maxped and rush packs and shows the pros and cons of each. (He does three fifteen minute vids rather.) I'll see if I can find you a link.

Good to know. Not being adjustable I wasn't sure how they'd be.

Thanks for the feedback on the packs guys. I'm tall and do have a long torso. I'm going to use it for EDC and I don't really carry all that much stuff with me on a daily basis (but sometimes a heavy laptop, or Ipad + food and water, and of course a BK9, 5 or 4...oh yea and a G21 or 36 and two extra mag depending on where I'm going :D). I have other packs that were designed specifically for hiking that I will be taking into the woods with me. After looking at the youtube reviews (thanks derek) I'm leaning towards the Rush 12. Or the COVRT 18 Backpack by 5.11 also looks nice but not enough external molle....

I think I'm getting the hang of this featherstick business.

I'm gonna have to give a harrd look at Arkansas stones now. Sharpest edge I've ever made.

Trade must have stepped on a crack. Just kidding. I'm glad she is alright.

Depends what you want it for. If you are taller (or have longer torso) or want to put much more than 15 lbs for an extended time I'd look to get something other than the Falcon II.

I had a Falcon II and sold it because the torso length wasn't long enough and hiking with 15-20 lbs was uncomfortable because all of the weight is on your shoulders. There's just better options out there for the money imo (see Murph's review of the Kelty MAP for example). If you just want something for EDC where it won't be carried a long time, the Falcon might not be a bad choice, I did like the organization features of the pack.

No experience with the 5.11 packs, but I suspect they might have the same issue with torso length if that affects you.

Edit: I'm 6'2 fyi

Thanks sir, here ya go!

Ordered, and received an Optimus Terra Kettle. Damn handle was broken. It was laying over, like it normally would, and would lift to not quite the half way position. Looking closer, the brackets where the handle is connected were bent, like someone forced the handle up. Figures.

congrats too the new mods!! remember with great power comes great ways too abuse said power lol j/k!

Wish I'd have waited till today to do the cold weather challenge, 59° right now. Oh, I got poison ivy while out.
