Don't usually talk about stuff like this, but it's so wild I have to share. Got a call today that my mother had fallen and was being taken to the ER. Met the ambulance there and sure enough she'd split the back of her head open when she hit the bathroom sink. After a CT scan, the Doc came in and said no brain bleed or broken bones. Then the weird part. He asked if mom had ever been treated for a broken back. "Never, why do you ask?" Well at some time in the past twenty years she has broken her back. Twice. Both times healed pretty well though.
Stapled her up and back to the home. "I better not miss supper".
damn.
My brother came up with a pretty good way of getting rid of telemarketers that I use alot-almost always with complete success--they usually hang up on me
Them: "Hi this is SOandSo with WhoCares Inc and we'd like to talk to you about blah blah"
Me: "Of sure, I would love to. I do have a $4.99 per minute listening and consulting fee so if I could just get your company's billing address and verbal agreement we can get started"
Them: "Uhhh...(click)"
My brother is still looking into actually being able to do this......
if i don't know the call... i answer now "emergency services line, may i help you?" and then "is this an emergency response call? hello?"
they never EVER call back
Damn, I'm getting old.
(it's my birthday. also, I just crossed the 1600 posts line)
511 Rush 12 or Maxped Falcon II? I'm leaning towards a multi-com Rush 12 but wondering what ya'll think
Depends what you want it for. If you are taller (or have longer torso) or want to put much more than 15 lbs for an extended time I'd look to get something other than the Falcon II.
I had a Falcon II and sold it because the torso length wasn't long enough and hiking with 15-20 lbs was uncomfortable because all of the weight is on your shoulders. There's just better options out there for the money imo (see Murph's review of the Kelty MAP for example). If you just want something for EDC where it won't be carried a long time, the Falcon might not be a bad choice, I did like the organization features of the pack.
No experience with the 5.11 packs, but I suspect they might have the same issue with torso length if that affects you.
Edit: I'm 6'2 fyi
Are they made in US?
