Uncle Fester?
It's like listening to two twelve year old boys talking about giving birth.
 YAWN!!!...............Mornin fellas...... What's up..............Go Bronco's huh?
I'm not. Well, I might, but it isn't in the books. I have no vested interest in either of the teams, I have no interest in the half time abomination, and the last few years the commercials have been disappointing to say the least. SO, not going to be watching.
Im not watching it. Barely ever do unless im at a super bowl party and i have not went to a super bowl party in YEARS. Never been much into WATCHING sports. When i was younger I played some football in high school as a wide receiver, and i played basketball with friends most every weekend.... but sitting and watching others play was never much fun or very interesting to me.
I don't have any plans to watch it. I'm going fishing mid-afternoon until sometime after dark. After that I might catch part of the game if nothing else is on.
I know this isnt pretty, just a quick sketch at full size to make sure it would fit on the steel with the curves and angles, but im not sure how to do the bottom by the handle? Any suggestions?
You mean like this?

I don't really see a need for a sharpening notch. Who cares if it's not razor sharp all the way back to the plunge, or if you scratch the plunge sharpening it? You're not going to be peeling apples with that bad boy.
I have serious reservations about the handle design; it looks remarkably uncomfortable. I wouldn't want something that tight on a knife that large (or any knife, really). I'd want a little more room for my hand to flex and "lay back" in more of a sabre grip. Not crazy about the blade-to-handle angle, either... it's clear that you're modeling it after your Keffeler but you have to remember, a 10" and a 15.5" blade are two completely different animals. That might just be me, though. Definitely make a few wooden or even cardboard models before you commit to cutting up a giant piece of steel like that.
Sorry to be a jerk, but you asked (kinda)![]()

Have we heard anything from tradewater post-sake? I fear there might have been a scene of rampant carnage with ample blood splatter.

aaaaaand that's one reason people forge instead of stock-remove. (of course the forgers all end up grinding too.)
Wrapped around the hand front and back. Don't do that. It allows only one grip, which is pretty much a straight wrist... which is terrible for slashing or chopping. What do you mean by the handle is too tight? How should i change it?
Maybe halfway in between. Some "drop" is good on almost any knife, but too much gets weird and hard to control.Do you think a knife with a blade 15" should be more straight handle to blade like the bk9?
Moose has a great video around here somewhere showing some various grips for different tasks.
WW is going to carve a giant 'bead' out of a tree trunk with that thing.
Thats what im talking about![]()
