I stuck this in the other straight-clip thread, but I can't help myself - reproducing it here: A BK-10 mod. Longer clip and a solo Wayne.

I like it. Reminds me of a short 7.

I'm looking for the "un-see" button and can't seem to find it... Can anyone help? I'm afraid I'll be haunted by this for a long time.

You're welcome. :)

Do any of you "leather" guys (or anyone else) know how to treat mold on leather? I've got a couple of very nice DeWalt electrician's bags that I need to clean up before I can sell them

Step one is to not store 'em in a musty basement or moldy garage. Otherwise, what Guyon said. I've had success just wiping them down a few times with rubbing alcohol. Don't soak 'em with it, too much is bad for the leather (dries it out). Keep an eye on 'em for a few days to be sure the mold doesn't come back. Sunshine and moderate temps help. Give 'em a little TLC with neetsfoot oil or a similar conditioner.

There may well be better ways, but that has worked for me.

...its going to look like a 3rd leg hanging off my side :D

Better make two, or you'll be forever walking around in circles.

Thanks -unfortunately there is no other storage space for me, and I haven't been able to get the dehumidifier hooked up to run 24/7; and I just can't empty the thing every other day - coastal property has a few disadvantages. The alcohol seems to be working; I'll leather protect 'em and sell them, with luck, before the mold attacks them again.
Sunshine and moderate temps? Are you kidding? It's snowing blue blazes out there. And when it stops, the temps still won't be moderate.

One word WW, Baldric.

I really want to see your custom that you are getting modeled on that short sword that we were drooling over.

Baldric is a good idea!!

And you mean the Giedymin one i posted the picture of? I got a picture of the drawing, same blade just a bit different handle, ill load the image so i can show ya. I think he said it might be finished in about 2 weeks :) I dont know if id call it a sword though. He calls it the Forestman chopper. The original had a 12" blade. Mine will be from 12-14" he said.

Oh, this one's definitely a candidate to be slung on your back.

Yes thats a much better plan LMAO it would be crazy on the side of the leg.... well its going to be crazy anyway.

Ill barely be able to carry the one lol

I didnt take as much time cutting this one out, but here is a revised handle. I think this feels much better. I can now get a better grip in the front or back of the handle. what do you guys think? Its just .25" longer.

Yes the Giedymin one. I want pretty much the same blade but with the leather handles, like his birthday Bowie.

This is what giedymin is making for me.

Based off this design, just some minor changes.

Put 'em in an open paper bag in the most comfortable room in your house? Typically in the winter, humidity isn't a big problem inside the house.

I was speaking in general terms. :D Even if it's cold outside, setting them on a sunny windowsill will help... it's the UV that kills the mold.

They're basically new, if you can believe it. just been sitting around far too long collecting dust....
You can also email me with ideas if you'd rather not discuss it here.

Have you tried saddle soap?

Someone said convertable Blackhawk. 45Colt/45ACP has to be one of the best ones, ever.

Jeez, I'm getting ready to head into town to the local gunshop, ya pods.

Thanks.......

:D

Moose

You can blame me for that one... you can load 'em from *pop* to *kerthump*.
Softie duplex roundball loads are HILARIOUS from .45Colt.

So if you get one, you must take a picture of it with the Moose Mountain 5. :D

I used to have a stainless blackhawk in .45 colt with the 4 5/8th barrel, not a convertible though. A guy I worked with who'd been reloading longer than I've been alive gave me some of the really stout loads, whoa baby! I don't have a reloading setup or a place to put one and .45 colt is not cheap so I sold the gun. It was a beautiful gun too, I do miss it. I'd like to replace it with a super blackhawk with an unfluted cylinder.

This one's pretty cool too

This thing has caught my "it's so damn weird I kind of like it" eye.

I have this, dare I say, weird, love/hate relationship with Spyderco, leaning more towards hate. However, I will admit.......I find this one intriguing.
