What do you mean... A knife like that one would be very useful. Trees would split in fright.

Wood already has the folders covered, he just need a fixed blade to match... here is his EDC folder...

Something a lot more simple.. but still BIG. This cut out in cardboard feels good in hand

Wow that certainly is a big ol knife. Very cool. And you are right, there is just something about a big knife. Albeit there is something about a smaller knife too but depends on how yah feel that day. lol.

If it was me I would be thinking about that handle. I like what I call "universal" type handles on knives like the KA-BAR F/U but I would think on something like this you would want something a bit more "curvaceous" ;) Since you already have a decent cant on the handle I'd put some belly on the grips so that your hand wouldnt be slamming around while swinging it. Kinda like your Keffeler chopper, the handle is designed to be conducive to the function of the knife. If you want a straight type handle I would at least make it more inline with the spine. I am not expert just another knife guy lol.

All that being said unless you had a specific purpose in mind with the handle design. Then I am all ears. Either way, interested.

The balance on that is going to be VERY forward. I'd definitely give it a little more real estate on the handle (probably on both sides). Other than that, looks interesting!

LMAO that video is hilarious.
Seriously hilarious...the look on her face after she fires it (at around 0:20) is priceless. I've had the opportunity to fire a regular Halo and that thing just about jumped out of my hand.

If you plant some acorns now, the trees will be full-grown by the time you get that thing ground out... and then you won't need the knife at all. So yeah, that makes perfect sense :D

Good point bro!! I like the handle cant like this, but the handle would indeed benefit with a little belly added. Ill draw up a new one later tonight with the improved handle. Thanks for the suggestion man.

I have been thinking about the balance of it. That is going to be an issue. I really really like this blade design but the handle will need some improvements. Maybe if i give it some belly and increase the size of the pommel area that may help a little, but i think no matter what i do its going to be forward heavy with a knife this size.

Dang. You may need 2 hands for that! What thickness is your steel going to be?

I actually thought about giving it a 2 handed handle. But i couldnt make it look right at all. Handles are always the hardest part for me. I can draw up 20 blades in a night and still not get the first handle to a point where im happy.

The steel i got is .265" thick.

I could always put a lanyard hole and tie a 5 pound weight to it as a lanyard bead to keep the balance right LMAO :D

Wait a minute, where is that totem pole again HAHA

Looks like my tour of the Appalachian trail is gonna get cut short. Nice 50 mile backpacking trip though. Pics will come later sometime

Someone said convertable Blackhawk. 45Colt/45ACP has to be one of the best ones, ever.

Jeez, I'm getting ready to head into town to the local gunshop, ya pods.

Thanks.......

Ohhhhhh, yeah. That guy. Well, it only took him three months to find something else to fuss about. Either he's a model of restraint or just a troll at failing. Failure at trolling? Something like that.

Oh crap. I'm going to have nightmares.

Hey, you 'shopped Ethan's head onto Derek'sbody. You can't fool me!

My work is done here.

:p

Went for a walk after lunch and this image flashed through my mind... I'm looking for the "un-see" button and can't seem to find it... Can anyone help? I'm afraid I'll be haunted by this for a long time.

Do any of you "leather" guys (or anyone else) know how to treat mold on leather? I've got a couple of very nice DeWalt electrician's bags that I need to clean up before I can sell them:

They're basically new, if you can believe it. just been sitting around far too long collecting dust....
You can also email me with ideas if you'd rather not discuss it here.

Ethan's PMR is a jam o matic. Not sure what ammo he's using, but he says its finicky.

I wanted one instantly after seeing his. After shooting it.......not so much...

1 mag, 3 failures to eject.

I do like that big ass mag though. Thats a lot of heat.

Now that PLR 16/22 is looking pretty good. Deck it out with the rails, put my Aimpoint H1 Micro on it, perfect gun for my new Xterra. I call my Xterra Mayhem. It has skulls on it.....

:D

there is unfortunately a trick to loading the magazine properly. don't do that, you'll get failures, usually to feed, which collide and cause eject issues. gotta do it RIGHT.

fortunately, it's easy to learn. unfortunately, most good guns don't have that issue.

if the ejector is bad, KelTec will fix it for free, and update the gun while they're at it. for free. his shoppe just sends it back with receipt.

KelTec SHOULD give us a bananana style feeding option (or a third party), 22s and 22wmrs feed nice enough that way.

mostly, due to the spring pressure, loading 25 feels just right.

which reminds me, this spring, i have to "tune" some bulgarian mags for the PTR-32. lots of guns are magazine sensitive, and this is no exception. is why they have steel lips.

worse, some guns WILL NOT FUNCTION (high standards) because they rely on the magazine geometry to feed. yow. tune tune tune and then never trade or drop that magazine.

lol

I heard if Guyon sees a pot or stove and doesn't buy it, it means 6 more weeks of winter...

ah, a sign of Spring

so, apparently Guyon is stalking those poor things, so that he can buy them all on clearance for $1

All I need is an inventory scanner, mainframe access, and five minutes.

Totally true. If I don't get one, all these poor bastards shoveling snow are doomed.

Plain old rubbing alcohol. Found the info online and cleaned up a Swiss Engineer's ruck in no time. I think I used a half alcohol, half water mixture. After wiping off the mold/mildew and letting it dry, I'd treat the leather with Obenauf's LP (my new favorite) or SnoSeal or something similar.

ETA: They won't look "new" after treatment with these products though. Most/many treatments will darken the leather and maybe give it a sheen. You could do a very light coat of oil instead.
