Actually getting a few moments on the computer tonight

Having a bit of spending money and looking at the exchange :thumbdn: so tempting :(

Dewd! Stay AWAY from the Exchange! It's like some sort of black hole for money!

Tho, unlike a black hole, you end up with knives.....

I try not t look at the Exchange, but I almost never succeed.....and then I find a GREAT deal and I'm posting and logging into PayPal.....
I've slowed down a lot and have a lot more restraint than before, but.....when you see a knife for ½ of retail that's been giving you the tinglies down under for months, well.....fahgettabout any restraint.

yeah.....rationalizations are just excuses wrapped up in a big word.....but at least part of the word is "rational".

Lol I shut down the computer and went to bed after that post :D saved me from making a purchase I most likely wouldn't of regretted later....but also would of looked at and be like... why, you have this knife and this knife that are so similar to it.

I'm not going to say I have too many knives, but it takes me a while to rotate through them. In comparison to some of the collections of some people on here, I got s.f.a but I use every single one that I have on a bi-weekly or monthly basis and that includes doing yard work with my Parangatang :D The only one that doesn't really get used is my extra 15. My main sits in my EDC bag and gets used almost daily. I've been debating potentially putting it up for a trade for a 16 or 17, just to expand my Becker collection and try out something new.

TBL if you put your spare 15 up let me know. I can never have enough 15s..lol. I have a 16 i could trade too.

Thorny,

I'll send you a PM this afternoon. I'm sure we can work something out ;)

Done and done :D

cut a 15 diameter pine tree into nine 7.5 foot sections the other day

have been splitting them out into staves, do make a log platform... did two of those to get a lot of pieces...

used some previously milled stone for the base in a 3x3 grid, with three supports

What are the tall things ? Snow drift blockers ?

it's a log pile. back in the day, in scandi land, it's consider a "unit of work", which directly translate to a "unit of wages"

it's a standard apparently. don't know a lot about it, but it's a damn fine way to stack logs for later processing.

I figured bacon is the staple of most beckerhead's diet. If you are what you eat, and bacon is tasty.....

Damn, yo. Damn.

Damn, yo. Damn.

walked uphill both both ways. almost actual. 800 feet round trip, one log per trip shoulder carry. only used the wheel barrow for tools and rocks :D

tomorrow i'm going to use the brace and bit, and install some posts to lock things in. this is "semi-permanent"... going to make a mega pile...
