Just picked up this cool tool chest from craigslist for $20. Needs a new bottom though. (BK9 for size reference)

I've been busy playing with steel and micarta this weekend. Between that cleaning the house too. Blaaa...
 
slighty bored, and not liking the orientation of the platform, i rotated it a bit...

had to dig some dirt, and level, and used the brace and bit to peg six locations for stabilty

then setup some tyres and started the first ring

fifteen dollar :D works good with the "like new" craftsman box set in faded blue metal case from 1950?

have a box of good braces, and several wood boxes of full sets of other bits too. most were $5-15 a pop. can't stop buying ;D

got a few antique twisty things with handles for log cabins too :D

gunna have to hew me some wood at some point and make a draw horse. round tuits.

iffn you got a good design for a horse, lemme know. i've seen a few i like, but short of also using one for a cribbage table, haven't had the inspiration yet. got all the woodright/etc books too.

And you're just now noticing his? Mosquitos, ticks, fleas, chiggers......they all suck. Locally, they suck my blood. Always, too, they are finding chinks in my chemical armor.

Nope, notice it damn near every time I go to the cabin. Get them whether I spray myself or not. Looking forward to the cooler weather.
 
The only "positive" of the fire ant invasion - they seem to have virtually eliminated chiggers in some areas - the fire ants harvest tons of pest eggs while out harvesting for food. Again, the ONLY positive that I have determined.

i always felt trout was an excuse to eat a pound of butter and some lemon juice fresh squoize. hardly any flesh or flavor.

I have pissed people off saying similar. Once in a seafood restaurant i said the flounder was ok... It wasn't fried catfish or anything but it was still good... The looks i got could turn Medusa to stone.

Flounder grouper trout salmon tuna halibut.... I'll eat all of these... Happily in fact... But ain't none of it better than fresh caught and fried catfish or some blackened red fish.

Hell I'll take a properly fried fresh sunfish/bream over most fancy grilled saltwater fish any day of the week.


But we already established my taste buds are more evolved than most...
