I still need to pick up an m&p shield. Just haven't gotten to it. My Kahr cw9 has pretty much became my pickup gun and stays there most of the time, so I need something to carry again.

In other news, I just took the dogs out and everything has frosted over. Good riddens mosquitoes!

Eta: I've caught 5 mice in my pickup in the last few weeks. I wish I knew where they were getting in, so I could block their way in. I never catch any when I have my pickup at home. They always come in when it's parked at my boss's place. I got some peppermint oil and cab fresh packets from Amazon yesterday, so hopefully I can keep them out.

Jerry, I have done a ton of research on the M&P Shield and held it a few times as well. Its very well reviewed by pretty much everyone. Its pretty much THE CCW pistol of the informed masses from what I have found, and based on reviews and anecdotal evidence I have found from owners, there are better guns, but not much better for the price and for that specific purpose. Its my next pistol, and quite possibly my very next gun.

That's really what I'm finding too. A good friend of mine loves his. As it stands, I end up leaving my Glock 22 at home or off body more than I have it on me. The shield fits into the budget right now and I know the shield should conceal well with the trained monkey clothes I have to wear to the office. I'm not so sure about the G30sf.

With the little one on the way, papa bear wants to make sure he has his bear arms with him regularly.

I came down to the M&P Shield and a Springfield 3.8 compact.. I finally got a chance to shoot both and decided on the Springfield. Now that I decided (of course) they changed the design and you can't get the old style any more. May have to revisit the shield again. What caliber are you going with?

I found a good price on a 9mm model plus a few other accessories second hand, however, the newer 45 model is tempting.

The smaller Springfield's popped up on my radar as well. I'll be giving those a look in my local shop before pulling the trigger on anything just yet.

Oh, it's an excellent design, and has garnered good feedback beyond these miscreants. My only complaint about it is that I don't have one for myself in Nautilus livery!

I just hope the apocalypse doesn't happen until after the Northeast Gathering.

We were told he was half English mastiff and half lab... And he looks like it to me just smaller. My buddies 6 month pure lab weighs 58lbs. But i adopted Leo and didn't get to see the parents so he could really be anything LOL

If he doesn't hit at least 80# in the next year... I Will be getting a 3rd dog... Leo Will still be loved no matter his size but i really want a big dog.


There is a great Cane Corso breeder not far from here... Beautiful dogs, supposedly very smart and easy to train... I have started reading up on them just in case!!

Good looking pups WW. They look happy for sure. It's weird that he's that small. A heck a lot of labs bump 100lbs. You would think a lab/mastiff would break that easy.

I just took Hank for his second walk this morning. Yesterday .75 mile didn't wear him out at all. Today we did 1.1, but that didn't wear him out either. He is finally napping now, 2 hours later and after a meal. I believe I'll finish watching NCIS and get him in his crate and put myself to bed while he's sleepy.

The Tradewater is an institution of one. The fact that I have never been seen in Tradewater's presence speaks to the uncoolness that is me ;)

Good to see names I remember, Granite, hope all is well with you :) I have missed frequenting these forums, I had a chance to "play" with some knives this last weekend and felt the need to check in around these parts again.

Pretty crazy that I just talked about this... today on my way to get subway I stopped at a pawn shop right beside it to look at bicycles. While I was in there I just happened to see what I have been trying to find for months now.. and brand new to boot! :)

Funny you mention that.... Dropped in at my LGS to browse and their blow out special of the day was the Shield.

So.... I kind of have a S&W Shield now. Get it home and tell a buddy and he says that he has an XDS 45 he'd sell. Son of a..... Where was that info when I was weighing options. Ha-ha!
 
hmmm....
I'm beginning to wonder if I need a shield to go with my sword....
